  • I can now say briefly whats had us so stressed last several days,a week last monday,a pensioner started to cross the road, and bounced of the side of the sons motor, pedestrian in queens med with,a bleed on the brain, some broken bones, and chest ???,the police still have his motor, but tonight he attended a police interview, you can imagine his emotions and ours, they said it was 100% the pedestrian fault, the light were still on green,he was asked to attend as a witness, thank you god for some relief, the motor is still being held until it's all checked over,on 18th?,the police man on the day, later on got him some food,as he not eaten all that day, this was the the last straw for him emotionaly,i hope i can sleep, maybe not as as so exited with relief, unfortunately,he will never forget the site he saw lying in the road,i will leave it there, good night all and thanks for being there for me xxx

        • Sadly LD this is not a unique case it happens quite a lot someone not paying attention or forgetting where they are, and the driver is at fault till proven otherwise, when this happens there are 2 casualties but all too often the driver is forgotten about, I have a friend who was involved in a road accident over a year ago and now won't travel any distance in a car so make sure your son get all the help he needs, you as well as this has been an added stress on you so get someone to talk to, and if you can't, let rip on here where you can let off some steam, so thinking of you Lottie, God Bless

          • Morning n'alln'all
Looks like the sploshy weather has started.
I understand the uk us getting storms and high winds, so keep safe peeps.

Lottie-you really have been through a lot lass . As the others say, we're here if you need us xxxx

Today is the day of 'the start of the great clear up'
We have fiends coming today for a few days then we're off to the uk so we need to try and make the house vaguely presentable amongst the building work
It's going to take a heck of a lot of Spring cleaning!
Then... a well earned break from all the hard physical work!

First things first though... anyone fancy a brew?

            • Mornings!
              Chin up LD
It's grey and drizzly, but mild so the cat's whizzing in and out like a mad thing 'cos the birds are noisy this morning. Do they sense the coming storm I wonder
Off in a mo to get my paper and some milk, cos I won't be going out for the Sunday one - that's for sure!
Job for this morning is to finish wind-proofing the g/house as much as I can, we're forecast 60mph+ winds tomorrow, not looking forward to that at all
              Have a good'un
Stay safe everyone, and good luck through the storm - we're all overhead cables here so may not be on-line tomoz.

                  Stay safe peeps.

                  • Afternoon all and a big hug to LD. Glad to hear that that's one thing you don't have to worry about.

Spent a couple of hours trying to get to prune the olive tree that's in the middle of my veg patch and then process the wood. Still at least two more hours to go. There's virtually nothing of it left... Mr Snoop went and had a look at the oak tree over our outdoor table. At least a third of it has come away. He's very upset. Probably won't have to buy any firewood in next year. And lots of it is the perfect thickness for baking pizza. So, trying to look on the more positive side.

Lovely blue skies here today, but a freezing cold night again. Wind due to kick up a bit in a day or so, but nothing like as bad as it sounds you're going to get, TS. Good luck.

Not much other news. Plenty to keep me busy and out of trouble today. Better get a move on.

                    Have a good day, everyone.

                    • Good afternoon all, chilly outside, wind getting up,thank you for the support,he just rang me,is chilling out today with a friend, and certainly sounds better, the road is well know for jay walkers,he not the first and won't be the last, son was just passing a bus when it happened,so the body walked in front off that first, thus being blind to other traffic, footage shows lights were defo on green, peeps playing dodge with traffic, not only cock there own lifes and faimily, but the driver as well,so take extra care out there, lets hope this new storm is not as bad as predicted.
OH i thought i would try MR scooter out,and go shopping, talk about a learner, but i got there and back, the councilor will be getting a phone call on monday, ref the very steep camber towards the road, and full of patches, you have to lean or go over,i shall invite them to have a ride for themselves MMMM,it also showed me,how peeps shoot around the shop without looking, then mutter sorry, will be happier when the car is back on the road, but i am very resorsfull, and face a challenge, have a good afternoon AND Bgood2yourselfes xx

                      • Good afternoon getting quite blustery now, walked up for the paper this morning and thought I felt a bit of rain but nothing came of it, just a slever in the wind, though there is a wee flurry of rain just now, as we were out yesterday we stayed in today and as I expected OH is tiered and cold, she started on about having to clean the windows, she started but had to stop as it was too much for her, no prizes for guessing who had to finish them, she has an obsession about clean windows and as long as I can see out them I don't bother about them and while I was doing the house work I decided to clean out and regrout the shower tiles, which is an other thing I want to stop having to do I want to fit the wet wall? sheets inside the shower but OH hasn't seen any colours she likes but it will be done shortly no matter what daughter dropped in while she was out walking the dog and informed her mum that there may be some power cuts due to the high winds, so I had to look out some candles just in case we need them, but if the power goes down I will need to think on how we can keep warm ah well, every cloud has a silver lining we'll keep warm keep safe and keep a smile handy

                          • Evening all. Well the day started off not too badly up here, blustery but dry and I spent a goodly part of the morning in the greenhouse and then later, tidying up in the garage. Watched the Rugby and despite losing was very proud of our guys. The weather looked to be attrocious and full marks to both teams for putting up such a competitive display.

Lashing rain full on to the front of the house now. Well the windows will get a clean as will the car which was desperately muckit from the state of the roads.

                              More inside clearing up today

See ya later peeps -keep safe and warm.

                              • Not a good morning!
Wife just left for work, luckily station only 4 mins walk, may be quicker with tailwind!
                                Light rain but very gusty.
Must be bad as no squirrels or parakeets on my feeders or next door's. No other birds about.
