    • Good evening, a wee bit of rain this morning, but didn't come to anything, decided to take OH out no shopping required but wanted to pick up some holiday brochures, not sure where we will go, we are considering trying Lake Garda or a cruise, but where ever we go it rely needs to be easy walking, and not too warm, will need to think on it. Once back home I went out and installed a small log burner in the greenhouse, it won't be ad warm as the one I had last year but at the same time it won't require as much wood I will see how much things go with it, I bought some Walla Walla onion seeds to try as I am after a sweet onion, so will give them a go to see if they fit the ball, right need to go as I need to make the tea
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Disposable gloves could be the answer but who wants to be the one wearing the gloves when fishing!

I have some prescribed antihistamines but have to take 4 before fishing, or after.. either way they zombie-fy me for at least the next day so either way I cant win..

There's no stopping me though - 130 mile round trip tomorrow for another pop at those Norfolk Chub!

        Hope everyone is ok.

Thanks for the kind words on the pup, little Jessie's eyes have opened today, really cant wait!!

-2C again and a very heavy frost. Bet it 's going to look pretty again once the sun is up.

Off out to a New Years Party this evening. It's actually a typical French sit down meal from about 8pm onwards. If I recall correctly, last year we'd only just finished eating when we set off home around 4am

Bit too late for me to be honest but they're a lovely, fun group of peeps.

Glad the day went well Bramble. Early 40's? Dear me, that's rediculously young.

Today I need to try and finish off sorting my 'new' phone.
My old windows phone won't support WhatsApp after today, so I've been sending photos and videos to my OH so he can send them back to my new phone. It's a 6 yr old iPhone which was kindly given me, but the simcard doesn't fit which has really complicated matters. The frustrating thing is that I like to keep many of my older messages from my children.( Bit like keeping letters ) and there are videos etc I want to keep. Not quite sure what will go and what will stay, so I'm erring on the side of caution.
Frustrating or what...there was nothing wrong with my old basic phone

                • Mornings,
after a lazy lie-in this morning, only got myself out of bed when the postman knocked oops!

I'll probably start putting the xmas decs away (I always think they're a bit sad once the day itself has passed) and start knitting a cowl/scarf, I got the wool before the holidays but haven't even cast on yet.

Have a good'un and enjoy yourselves if you're celebrating tonight

                  • Morning guys.

Busy day ahead doing admin type stuff. But need mobile phone coverage to get all the usual codes and the like, so will be going into town. Very frustrating and a total waste of time. But there you go.

Hope you all have lovely days.

Happy knitting, TS. And good luck with your phone, Nicos. Same thing happened to me once with a phone. Frustrating and a waste of time, money and planetary resources.

                    • Nicos - I know nothing about phones, as Scarlet keeps telling everyone, but, when I "upgraded" from my old phone to a newer cast-off phone the SIM card didn't fit so my PAYG supplier (Orange) sent me a new one that would. It was free and came ready loaded with my number and my £10.69 credit.

I've no idea what WhatsApp is but you can't you send stuff to a "cloud" and retrieve it later? Someone who understands will be along shortly.

                      • Good evening, an other day at the hospital with OH, not quite as long in the hospital this time and her next appointment is in 3 months time, but once we came out it was time for a bite to eat, so decided to go to the restaurant in the hospital where we had a lovely meal, on the way home we popped into a GC where the seeds were half price so bought some flower seeds for the boys, though I was looking for some Jerusalem artichokes after reading the bit by Huw Richards I think I will give them a try.
I have tried to catch up on spray me previous posts as I had missed some over the past couple of weeks (this trying to do housework lark is no fun, Can please take note) I hope your OH heals ok, captn every house should have a dog, OH just won't let me get one, because I take it a bit sore when they die, but even knowing the pain it brings I would still have an other one, now I am waiting for OH to tell me she is out if an other dog comes in, f so I will get one for every day of the week and bramble it is always sad when someone as young as that passes away.
Nicos take a lesson from the problem you have with the phone, a young person would no doubt be able to sort your phone problem in jig time ( I would sort it for you if I was closer) and they/we could last past 4 no problem
Enjoy the evening everyone, and keep safe and sober those who are driving, wishing you all the best for the coming year

                        • Evening!

Nicos, I bought my 70 year old father a new phone a few weeks back, to update his 15 year old phone.. when he was trying to put the contacts in the new phone he called everyone on his list.. and he moans constantly that you cant leave it a week between charges like his old one...

                          Hope you get sorted!

Interesting day fishing in Norfolk, unfortunately very sunny and bright - less than ideal.
Bagged a few though, after the near two hour drive I'm back home and ready to see in the new year!

                          Have a good one!!

                            Busy day again today.
Family members popling in and out to make sure we are ok after the funeral.
I have to say, I dont like new years eve at the best of times but a death at this time just makes it even sadder.
Anyway, lets all be thankful for the past year and best wishes for the next one.
                            Happy new year to all.
                            Health and peace of mind.
