  • Clouding over and getting decidedly chilly now. Low of 9.2 ºC last night. Bonkers. Well into the minuses again in a few days. I went out with Mr Snoop today for the first time since the snow. Terrible to see all the damage. But something else I spotted: a fair bit of almond blossom. How are trees to cope with all this up-and-down weather? Birds too?

Anyway, it was an expensive day, what with retrieving one car from the mechanic's and leaving another one with him, doing all the shopping and buying a chainsaw to deal with all the trees. Better get busy on the work tomorrow.

Have a good evening everyone. Hang on in there, LD. Big cyber hug on its way to you.

      • Evening everybody, had a cold start this morning. Frost on car at 7:30, I headed to the west of Ireland with outside temperatures of 3’C, it was after 11 before I seen 6’C. On my way home in the afternoon it was 9-10’C. Don’t know what to expect tomorrow

        • Been another cold one here but it became not so cold( note I didn't say it was warmer}in the afternoon and it rained. I ferried my better half in to see her dad and then went to the plot to check on the mousetraps. Two corpses. No idea where they are all coming from but if that was a breeding pair at least there should possibly be a reduction in new population. .

          • Evening Grapies. It was a cold one last night and I've been out all day at my Mum's so don[t know what the weather's been like.
Mum had some visitors and they were asking her about her early life - what she did in the war etc. She told them she'd worked down the docks when the doodlebugs were coming over. The visitors didn't have a clue what doodlebugs were - they thought she was making up words!! Then she told them that she worked in the Wire rope works - "Wire Rope - what's that??"
Even though I don't remember doodlebugs, I've heard her stories so often that the word isn't strange to me - to them it sounded like bubblegum. made me feel old - almost as old as rary.
They're going to write an article about her life for a newsletter - goodness only knows what'll they'll write.

Big Hugs to Lottie and anyone else in need of a cwtch.

            • Good evening, an other cold wet day, did a bit of shopping then set up a heat mat in the greenhouse though I think I would be better to wait a bit before sowing any seeds. Yes VC I know what doodlebugs were, not because I experienced them but because I saw them in old news reels, though I can understand why you could forget seeing them, it would be quite a traumatic thing to see. Thinking of you LD, I hope things ease off a bit for you, and remember Bgood 2 yourself and everyone remember to pass on a smile

                • Mornings!

My back is sore this morning, so apart from a walk to the plots to harvest some leeks, swede and cabbage - I don't think I'll be doing much today..

                  Have a good'un

                  • Mornin n'alln'all
                    Sploshies again today.
It really does make you think we should be catching more of it for summer use on the veggie patches.

Stage 2 of the electrical work is finished ...yippee! (still more to do though) . We actually have lights

I think today will involve clearing up a bit as (with all the dust) the house is feeling like we're located inside a quarry.

Hope your back improves quickly Thelma x

Anyone care to join me for a brew?

                    • I'm up for a brew, Nicos. Doing a horrid job (proofreading someone else's work, a job I loathe), so any distraction is welcome.

Thin cloud up top, so enough sunshine for the solar panels to be doing their job.

Catch you later guys. Meanwhile, have a lovely day. Hope your back improves, TS.

Been out and about since early.
Called into Lidl and picked up some dahlia tubers, freesia bulbs and 2 bare root apple trees.
Might go back later when they have fi dished u packing the rest of the gardening stuff.

Beautiful morning here with a temp of 11 degs.
                          Have a good day all.

                          • Thanks for all the 'get better vibes' cos they're working
I had a long hot soak in the bath and did some gentle stretches and the muscle tightness is easing now - as long as I don't do anything to upset it again!

                            • Good afternoon, so far a cold day with heavy showers, was at the church coffee morning now back home and won't be going anywhere till its time to get the boys, OH is flagging again, she is feeling old and tired I have told her to go to bed and have a nap but she won't do that and so is sitting in the chair napping, I think she really need a bit of sunshine to buck her up a bit, well enjoy your day

                              • Seems to have stopped raining at last. Very mild and there's a couple of very big bumble bees on the Honeysuckle and Clematis cirrhosa 'Freckles'. They are at it nearly everyday.

Getting the scent of the winter box and clematis.

                                Sun was out momentarily.

No doubt it will start raining in an hour when I have to go to dentist, only five teeth left! It'll be a quick check up!
