Good evening all.
Been out to the greenhouse covering my sweetpeas.
Its bitterly cold with a freezing wind .
Stay safe all.
Lovely to see you back Jay and to hear you're feeling better.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Good evening, nice to have you back on Jay, I hope you are getting ready for playing in the garden when the weather improves didn't need to go to the greenhouse this morning as OH decided she wanted to go out to buy some clothes for the cruise, though there was some snow it wasn't too bad, OH bought a couple of dresses and a bigger case, I don't know why she needed that, possibly so she has room for my presents, after all we sail just after my birthday she wanted me to get some things but my summer holiday clothes are fine I bought some new clothes ten years ago and ad there are at least three years when we didn't go abroad they have only been worn for about a month or so therefore no need to buy new ones, anyway I would just get into trouble if when I spilled something over them, whereas if they are not "new" it's not so important, well I hear the wind getting up again so take care if you are out in it, keep safe and warm and have a smile readyit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Evening all, I suppose I’m lucky to be here at all. I spent 91/2 hrs in Stansted airport waiting to get home flight was delayed 61/2 hrs. I had just paid £100 to a taxi driver to take me from Ely train station to Stansted airport, because the Stansted express was cancelled because of storm debris on the rails, the M11 was shut and whatever the A Road is this was blocked with the roof of the hanger from the airport museum. Got there at 2:30 for a 5:00 flight which didn’t leave u TIL 11:40, it was 2:00 this morning when I got home. Bloody storm Ciara.

I had to go to A&E today as I have an ingrown toenail that is infected and because I’m a diabetic it has to be treated in a hospital rather than a surgery. I spent 81/2hrs there this afternoon/evening with been told it’s still infected and I have to wait for an appointment from the hospital for surgery. I’m sick of waiting rooms.

Morning all.
That's an impressive photo, Captain. Going to take some re-re-arranging to sort that lot out. Nothing like the arrival of a new dog to take your mind off things, though.
Sorry to hear about your travails, CtM.
Hope everyone else survived. My mum says she thinks a child's slide flew past her bedroom window night before last. Sounds like it was a terrible storm.
More of the same again today for me today. All I've got to do is get to the end of the week... Then I can start weeding. Which reminds me: I picked some calçots yesterday. They're some of the best I've grown, but the ground is still so wet they come up with half a ton of clay stuck to them. Not much sign of the ground drying up either. Our fields in the valley floor are flooded and more water is still working its way down. Not looking promising. Not sure what to do about the calçots either. Dig and be damned?
Anyway, that's a minor problem on the grand scale of things.
Have a good day, everyone.Last edited by Snoop Puss; 11-02-2020, 07:13 AM.

Mornings!
Lovely blue sky this morning, but the wind is still very gusty - venting the greenhouse is going to be a bit of a puzzle then cos the autovents are still disconnected and doors taped up
I found lots of empty daleks and lids blown all over the plots yesterday, I'll let the owners sort out whose is whose and a few sheds were damaged. Mine was ok and so was the greenhouse frame - but the brassica hoop tunnels were folded flat.
Not as bad as I feared though tbh.
Into town for a few bits first and then domestics.
Have a good'un
