  • Morning, well that was a rough old night, we seem to have come through it ok, glad we don't have any fence panels, I think they would be in the sea floating off to Denmark if we had.

    • Mornin
Just popping in to say hi as I'm off to Paris in a sec
(One night will be plenty...I prefer the countryside)

Not as a chance to read back but I expect the weather will be mentioned
Had it here too but not as bad as last week's.
Hope everyone is OK and not had too much damage?

Hugs to anyone who needs/fancies one and smiles to everyone else

      Xx

      • Mornings!
        Have a good trip Nicos.
Weatherwise I think we've had a bit of everything in the last few hours. I woke up to grey, mild, misty and calm. Then the sky went black, chucked it down and crazy gusting wind for about half an hour. Now that's gone the sun's bright and the sky is blue and it's calm again. Daft weather innit?

Domestics this morning, then if it stays calm I'll take all the tape off the greenhouse cos stuff inside will need watering. I might even sow some seeds.....

        Have a good'un

Off to Paris Nicos, sou da so high flying.
For me, it's just domestics today.

          • Blue and chilly here today. But no wind to speak of. Hope everyone and their gardens/allotments have survived OK.

Not much to report. Managed to clear a fair bit of work yesterday. Got a bit more to do and then I might have an afternoon nap. Not quite as interesting as a trip to Paris, but still very welcome.

Have a good one, everyone. Catch you later.

              • Happy sunny Monday (between the showers).
I've been emptying the top of the airing cupboard to find bedding to donate to the flood appeal. Not much point keeping single duvets and sheets and double fitted sheets - when the only beds here are kingsize. The mock-crocs from W1ilkos that I bought 3 pairs of 'cos they were cheap but were too small have also made their way into the donations bags along with other odds and ends. The community hall collection point had cars queuing outside to donate items for the appeal. Hope it helps some of the poor souls who've lost everything.

Hope you're all OK. Thinking of you especially, Lottie xx

                    • Afternoon all.

Had a trip to B&Q earlier for some 2 X 1's or similar to build my under stairs cupboards. Finished up buying 3 X 2's as they were half the price of the 2 X 1's. (Go figure) These under stairs cupboards are going to be extremely sturdy. Also bought some trim and hinges for the doors. Spent a couple of hours cutting and fitting them.

Tomorrow is 'Junk' day, where I clean out all the carp that have accumulated under the stairs to give me room to make and fasten the framework.

                      Take care folks.

                      • Evening all, it’s been a relatively cold but dry day with the exception of 2 very heavy hail storms. Just been out to get some turf and logs for the fire without my jacket on, there’s a north westerly blowing and it feels like snow or sleet in the air.
Stay safe everybody in this horrible spring weather.

                        • Evening all,

been a super day here. I even spent the whole morning in the garden, most of the time taming an overgrown cotoneaster. There's a pile you wouldn't believe on the back lawn. Must be getting on though. Sat down after lunch and fell asleep. I must ask Rary sometime if that;s typical as I grow older. He should know shouldn't he

                            • My Mother is in trouble!!
My brother went to see her lunchtime to find that the front door had been broken into and a note from the Police saying they had done it!
Apparently the upstairs neighbour had reported the noise from her flat and the Police couldn't get an answer from my Mum so had forced the door.
Mum's version is that she was in bed, her hearing aid had fallen out, so turned the TV up.........and fell asleep! She woke at 3am to see 3 policemen standing beside her bed.
Her carers reckon she will be the oldest person to have an ASBO.

I'll be intrigued to hear the version she'll tell me tomorrow! I'm taking a timer so that the TV will turn off late evening, so she can't keep the neighbours awake again.

                              • aww shame. Good the police reponded though. Do the police make good the damage? Don't be too hard on her VC.
