  • Afternoon all

It's windy and raining again - so no chance of gardening or even greenhouse work - I won't risk it in a gusty wind. So, I've had a very lazy morning just drinking coffee and bumbling about but not getting anything much done I didn't even go up the hill for the paper.

My mobile has decided that it doesn't want to do anything much, and even that very slowly so I think it must be time for a new one - £sssss

    Have a good'un

    • Not long been out of bed, after a marathon session watching boxing from 8.00pm Sat evening until after 6.00am this morning. Worth the 25 squid just to see Tyson Fury give Deontay Wilder a boxing lesson and stop him in the 7th.

Bright but still windy here. (Getting a bit pee'd off with this cold wind all the time)

A couple of my red torpedo onions have eventually germinated. I was beginning to wonder whether I had duff seed so hopefully the rest will germinate saving me from re sowing.

      Take care folks.

      • Sorry, VC, your message must have just snuck in ahead of mine and I didn't see it when I posted. Really sorry to hear about your tree. People do transplant even quite elderly Olives here, so you might be in luck if you can heave-ho her back into place.

          • Evening all,

didn't get too much done outdoors today. Just too cold and blustery. Pleased to see my rhubarb has germinated - Gaskins perpetual. It's supposed to long bright red coloured stalks which will please me. The last rhubard I had which was grown from seed by someone else turned out to be green and to me rhubarb absolutely needs to be red .

Frost forecast for tonight so it's gonna be cold .................. again. I'm getting to be a bit hacked off with it. Anyway's no more moaning

            • Evening everybody, it’s been a disappointing day for me, had some visitors last night who stayed over so we were a wee bit late getting to bed and getting up this morning, any way it was dry and mild but still windy, got some turf and logs in cleaned out and lit the fire to watch the rugby England v Ireland in comfort, NOT SO, Ireland were terrible and deservedly beaten by England 24-12.

                • Mornings!

Raining and quite breezy but not cold, so that's some consolation - I suppose...

Trashco delivery in a bit, then some batch cooking for the freezer. That's all that's on the to-do list for now.

                  Have a good'un

                  • Good morning all.
Very breezy but dry and its 11 degs.
Grocery shopping this morning and domestics.
                    Nothing exciting today.
                    Have a good one all.

You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                    • Afternoon the rain stopped long enough for me to nip down the garden to tip the kitchen caddy into a dalek but that's it for the garden today. Did spot lots of silver birch branches they'll wait to be picked up another day.

                      • Evening all.

Bright but chilly again. Cloudy and windy for the next few days. No rise in night-time temps, unfortunately. Still perishing cold and very hard frosts.

Been a bit busy today. Paid work and helping Mr Snoop deal with the dead branches off our walnut tree. Been dead for 18 months or so. Now chopped and ready for burning already.

Not much other excitement, but thought I'd drop in and say hello. Have a nice rest of the day. Catch you tomorrow.

                        • Good evening, a cold wet day wlth snow and sleet to start with but thankfully it turned to rain before mid day then stopped about 1.30 I actually got out and sawed up some wood but even with the exercise it was still bitterly cold and no doubt will stay like that for a while as there is a fair amount of snow on the hills, now I am for out to the greenhouse for a wee while as I want to make a shelf to hold my seed trays and such like, enjoy your evening and keep warm
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                          • Evening all,

a trifle inclement here today which scuppered my plan to head to the allotment. Instead I joined her ladyship when she went to visit her Dad. There was a young chap doing a stint singing for the old folks and I have to say I enjoyed it . Maybe a couple of inches of snow lying but none since we came home and the temperature is supposed to start rising again in the middle of the night. We ate out at lunchtime and not inclined to eat again so far .
