    • Mornings!

Cold, frosty and blue skies - looks lovely through the window - loses it's appeal when you open the door though lol
I'm off up the hill for a coffee with my daughter in a bit - think I might need scarf & gloves..

Housework this after, 'bout time I did some

      Have a good'un

          • I think I read somewhere that the Romans shared and re-used sponges. Not sure I'd be up for that...

                • Good afternoon.
Just back from dropping my sister off at the airport.
It's a lovely bright sunny day here but a cool breeze.
Lovely to be out in the garden.
                  Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                  • I am old enough to remember the shiny toilet paper wasn’t it called bronco. As a kid we used to visit aunt and uncle in Banbury who had an outside loo with squares of newspaper on a hook. They had loads of children but only small cottage, my uncle told me he put them to bed 2 at a time and once they were asleep he would hang them in the wardrobe to make room for the next 2.

They used a sponge on a stick that they would pass around the communal latrines. Not sure I'm up for that either - imagine all sitting round together, passing the communal sponge to those in need.

" Snooporius Pussiensis, can you pass the sponge to Lotticius Dotticus and then back to Veggisius Chickensis who's always last to finish".

                        • ^^^^ the things you learn on the Vine, my oh my, sponges and newspaper too, life`s a learning curve
Well got back home earlier and had just missed a heavy shower then up to collect the boys coming from school and as usual it was raining, said something about the rain to one of the lollipop ladies saying its always on at 3 to which i was told, " it was fine yesterday" I didn't collect the boys yesterday, it was the older 2 I was watching, then when I met the other lollipop lady, she said, "i see you have brought the rain with you" talk about getting a complex just as well its like water off a ducks back though this must be one of the wettest areas in Britain, now when its dark its dry and I think heading into a frost.
At least you had something to read when on the loo Thelma, just think of old Veggisius Chickensis who was always last and nothing to read

That’s because in your days rary it was dock leaves and a wad of grass, long before shiny paper was invented.

                            • Well said, Can.
Rary is probably still using dock leaves and grass because he's too mean to buy toilet paper, or even a newspaper.

                              • Evening everybody, it was a mild start this morning only 6’C, temperatures got up to 9’C during the day, when I got home I took a walk around the yard looking at the pink sunset and felt only another week or two and we should see a bit of warmth in the poly tunnel to see some significant seed growth.

Stay safe everybody and don’t forget ‘Wash your hands’, keep that bloody virus at bay.
