        • Good afternoon again dull, cold but dry, I have been out the back tidying up I was thinking I would just do a little bit at a time so had a look round about to see how I would do it and I recon if self isolation lasts about nine months I should just about manage to tidy it up a bit, if its only three months I am in bother and will have to work for about six hours a day seven days a week so just in case I better get out and make a start keep safe and healthy but most of all keep happy
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

          • Happy sunny Tuesday

Wasn't sure what to do today until I found some Tree Lily bulbs that were dug up last year (in the wrong place), dumped on a nearby bed .......and forgotten. Overwinter they were lost amongst the dead leaves and weeds. Amazingly they're all shooting. Just need to clear somewhere to plant them - by cutting down the Verbena bonariensis and old wallflowers and buttercups, couch grass and sundry other weeds................

Sounds simple, but I can't just cut down plants if they have signs of life - so the wallflower shoots need to be turned into cuttings and the verbena seed heads scattered somewhere appropriate.

            Good job there's no hurry.

Don't forget to take time to switch off, enjoy the sun, watch the birds and look for new shoots wherever you are. All this virus stuff will pass, and Nature will still be there for us.x

            • I've just spent a good couple of hours clearing carp from behind my shed and manhandling a sturdy woodworking bench with vice attached into position against rear of shed. I manhandled an 8x4 worktable there the other day and I am well on my way to setting up a roofless workshop. I just need to find room for the forge and put a roof on the area and I am all set.

I have used up my energy reserves for today so am ready for a lie down now.

              Take care folks.

              • We've just been for a walk round the fields and didn't see a soul close up, one car and a cyclist in the distance, Skylarks singing well, a few Bumble Bees around and a couple of dozen Curlews in the Barley field, now relaxing and doing more on the family tree, seem to have hit a wall in the mid 17th century though.

                • Good evening g all.
Went to the surgery for my injection.
I was the only one in the waiting room.
They were just letting peeps in strictly by appointmrnt.
                  I felt very reassured.
Went and had a lovely walk in the park afterwards and then a walk by the coast road.
                  Not too many perps about.
It was sunny but still feeling cool.
Have a good evening and stay safe all.

                  • Evening all, I hope everybody is staying safe and well. Another day working from home office with my wife. Then at 5.00 I took a walk in the garden and poly tunnel. Watered the plants in the poly tunnel. Then fed the cat, gave her some treats. Sat back and watched the finches, tits and linnets in the apple tree feeding on the nuts, suet balls and mixed seeds I put out for them.

Terrlible nights rest, just couldn't get comfortable. Currently showing as -3° in the garden, thats one of the coldest nights of winter.

Hope everyone is coping with the new rules and finding plenty to do

                            • Morning, all.

Wet here today. Rain got here early, the forecast says expected at 8.30 am, so an hour and a half ahead of schedule. Not a massive amount forecast but the pear trees are in a giant pond. Been there for weeks now. Fingers crossed they survive.

Second solar system now well on the way to being installed. My work is not well on the way to being finished. Better step on it.

Kettle's on. Ginger flapjacks on the table if you can stand one so early.

Have a nice day. Catch you later.

                                Stunningly pretty frosty, sunny morning.
Even the magnolia has turned completely brown so it must have been a heavy frost.
                                * my poor plum trees

Had a great day yesterday...weeded part of one of the strawberry beds....made a ginger and coconut cake..made a chocolate mousse....cooked some quail eggs ready for pickling today...and spent 2 hrs just sitting in the sunshine in the garden reading a book. Boy did I feel guilty doing that!!!! But why not eh?

Yesterday was 16C ...-3 last night ... and we are now forecast snow for Monday morning
                                Glad I sat out now!

Burnie and jay - I did years of ancestry and contributed quite a bit...then took a break for about 6 years. I was gifted 6 months membership back in the autumn and wow...what a lot of new stuff is available!
There are loads of other sites as you say...which one have you joined Jay?
My A* one runs out in 6 days so I need to print stuff off whilst I can! ...thanks for the prompt!

Snoop-I still chuckle at the thought of your OH creating a second 'Solar System' he certainly has an almost unique skill

Right...best phone my mom and see how she's coping....
                                See ya later peeps!
