  • Afternoon, all.

Surprisingly bright here today. Wasn't expecting it. But temperatures cool and due to get distinctly cold, well into the minuses again overnight.

Mr Snoop has found a bag of potatoes I grew last year. All got perfect chits... I wasn't going to grow any this year, but it seems a shame not to. Got so little room for them, though.

Had a nice walk with the dogs this morning. Put on my wellies and forded the valley. My veg patch looks even worse close up. Still, the walk was nice.

Plenty to do today, so better get a move on.

Have a nice day, everyone. Stay well.

    • Afternoon all, cooking curry here too, be interested in everyone’s recipes!
It’s cloudy here but at least it’s dry. Keeping away from everyone as it’s only been 8 weeks since last chemotherapy so wrapping up and going for a walk in the garden.
Have a great day everyone. x

      • Its a nice bright sunny morning here today again. I think I might venture onto the flat roof of the extension and try and figure out how water is getting in at the joint between extension and house.
The warmth should soften the lead flashing allowing me to have a look under it and see whats what?

Have a good day folks and stay safe.

        • Back indoors, jobs a goodun I hope. Lifted lead flashing and squirted a full tube of silicon under front edge.

Now I just need to wait for the rain/snow and wind forecast for the weekend to see if I have fixed it.

PS It took longer than 4 minutes as I had the previous post already written but not uploaded.

          • Good afternoon still dry but high cloud cover so no great increase of temperature, OH decided to have a break today and take things a bit slower, though I think she needs to stay in bed again as you would think she has a couple of black eyes, but she says she feels fine, our son brought us some bread and milk, and a neighbour brought us some ice cream and then our daughter brought us a box of wine, so we are well stocked, just watching the news on TV and it does make me realise just how fortunate I am to have a larger than average garden, not because it's a lot of work gardening, it's because there is more places to tidy up, like today I have been tidying up the garage and after three hours work I can now walk nto the first six feet without having to step over anything we'll as long as stick to the path Enjoy your day keep safe, keep smiling

Ok. to be cooked in a wok or similar. 2 x largeish chicken breasts, an onion, large carrot, and a pepper + some mushrooms. Peel and cut the onion into chunks, deseed the pepper and cut and chop, likewise with the other veg. Saute the onion and pepper, cut the chicken into chunks of about a cubic inch and add to pan, cook till chicken starts to caramelise. Add half a jar of Pataks curry paste, a tin of tomatoes and a couple of chicken stockpots. Also add enough water to give the consistency of sause you prefer.
We also add sprouts and diced spud and bits of broccoli, cauli and suchlike. It really is an iffit curry, if it's there, chuck it in. Everyone has their own preference for curry sause so choose the paste you like best. We like the Rogan josh one.Best cooked on a simmer for about an hour. Serve with Naan bread or rice.

Newspapers are easier to read before you make them into pots

                  • I have a sore hip I think the last couple of days activity in the garden have caused it. Today's housework hasn't helped, but I'll mend. My neighbours are in their 80s and can't get a delivery slot for shopping so I am going to add their list to mine for next week. I'm sure we can keep below 80 items between us. I have 3 weeks booked in advance.

                        • Just watching tonight's news and after my last post I feel terrible that I have that food and others have nothing, evidently I can't give any of the freezer food to a food bank, but I will give my son and daughter money to buy food for the food bank as we have not contributed anything since we went into self isolation I still feel helpless about this but hopefully everyone will get enough food to avoid hunger

                          • Dont feel bad Rary, you have to look after yourself first.. then we have to do what we can!

Evening all BTW, crazy, crazy times.

I think the stress of the whole situation is kicking in, the other half is still working at the school, which means my two little people have to go into school. So those three are at a higher risk.

In addition to that I'm still working, travelling into work and thankfully at that on full pay.. whereas a lot of others are not - I know that's increasing my chances of infection, given my asthma.. I know deep down things would be 'iffy' should I come into contact with 'it'...

The whole situation is just beyond anything I could have imagined, just a few months ago feels like a whole different world.

At the same time, you want the kids to be aware that they need to keep up their hygiene, bit not worry them too much, or let them see how worried I am.

                            Crazy, crazy times.

                            • Mornin n'alln'all
Just listening to the 7 am bells...lovely!

we had a great hour on WhatsApp video links with 3 other couples last night. Drinkies, nibbles, playing Irish music ( although the slight delay made that rather interesting!) Really lovely after almost 2weeks of being in lockdown.

I've decided to do more cupboard sorting for the charity shops , so today I shall mostly be doing 'Under the Bed'....Wish me luck...I may be some time!

                              Clocks forward tonight Yep?

                              See ya later-enjoy your weekend.

                              • ^ Morning all.

Grey and cloudy here. Due to stay the same for the next few days. Very cold nights too.

Keep safe, Cptn. We're pretty isolated where we are, but the conversations we're having are pretty much the same. Very odd. Fingers crossed a safe vaccine is discovered soon. With thanks to you and your OH too, as whatever it is you do, it must be essential.

Thanks for the reminder of other people's plights, Rary. It's a difficult time now and likely to get worse.

Right, off to have a quick whizz round the forum, catch up with mates on other threads.

                                Have a good one, everyone.
