  • Morning all.
Well, what exciting stuff can I get up to today to stay amused? Housework? (Blurgh!)No gardening today as we have returned to winter after a glorious day yesterday.

    Join Nicos under the bed?

DIY is on hold for some things as B&Q are shut.

Sick of the telly. Finish my book maybe? Decisions, decisions.

I suppose.......I could do a bit more tiling of the bathroom I started 6 months ago.

Maybe like VC, I'll just 'blag it' and see what transpires.

Take care folks and stay safe.

    • Mornings!
Sun is coming and going but we have a horrid cold gusty NE wind - not a day for being outside Brr!
The g/house is in the lee of the hedge so is a little warmer in there, but not much..

The diet has been eased off a bit, to use what's available in the cupboards - so may actually use that as an excuse to make some bread

Have a good'un and stay safe

        • Happy breezy Saturday Its a bit parky out there (having written "parky" I'm wondering what it means, whether people still say it or whether its become one of the words that you can only say in private?)

I dug deep in the freezer yesterday and found a box of raspberries from 2015. They're a bit tart but otherwise, perfect.
Seeing the Bright side of this situation -

          - using up the old food stuff, which may mean I can empty the small freezer and turn it off.

          - have eaten all the crisps and peanuts and am working my way through the biscuits and chocolate. Once they're gone, I'll not be buying more for a while. - Result, hopefully, loosing weight

          - if I lose a bit of weight I'll be able to wear more clothes from my wardrobe - and it will be like buying new.

          There's always a Bright side.

Nowt the matter with 'Parky' VC. A very apt term for today's weather IMO.

              • Good morning all.
Sun is out but theres an icy breeze.
We have been told to stay home for the next two weeks as we are over 70.
Means no going to the park.
We are lucky to have a very big back lane so that will have to do for a walk.
Really nothing much to do as it's too cold to plant any thing out.
It's a play it by ear kind of day.
                Stay safe all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                      • Started to clear out some sheds and came across a stash of home made cider, probably 30 odd 2 litre bottles, it looks crystal clear but is probably 3-5 years old so it will be well matured or poison, not sure if I dare try it.

Nicos is just your tipical woman Snadger, insists on you being properly dressed even for going under a bed, and of course asking if you could bring something for cleaning and you can bet your boots she would expect you to use it

                          • Good afternoon, it has been a nice sunny day today but a bit cool, have had a lazy day, as I just couldn't get any motivation to get going, but I did cut back a couple of shrubs and tided up a Hardy fuchsia then wondered about with a weed wand burning up some weeds, I also went for a walk and as it happened I had a bag and shovel with me so I collected some soil from a number of mole hills which I will mix with some compost and try Sps plan for growing some turnip, but at 5he moment I need to go and make the tea, catch you later

really chilly out all day so needless to say I've been inside . I'm trying to keep our locals entertained on facebook with veggie growing a dvice and recipes. Vegetable soup today, I think I'll inflict my chicken curry on them tomorow

                              • Thanks for the help Snadge

Been watching a couple of magpies throughout the day snapping dead twigs off our cherry tree and flying to the very top of our conifer tree...literally 3feet down from the top of a 35ft high tree.
And guess what? -it's blowing a hooley out there now hope they don't get seasick!
