      • Good morning all from a lovely sunny Dublin.pa
A bright day so a walk in the back lane and then gardening.
OH doing domestics as he is at a loose end.
Have a good dsy all and stay safe.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

        • Morning all. Bright outside but still quite parky this morning.

OH has been on to her own GP and she has advised against her going to the hospital as it is too dangerous for her. Must admit my family are pleased she has cancelled appointment.

I have a bag of oven trays outside which have been sitting in cleaner all night. The plan is to take it to the top of the garden behind the shed and take grills out of bag. Then I will get the watering can and flush off the crud that has dissolved. Only when the thick is off will I bring them to the kitchen sink and finish the cleaning.

I usually have six small oxygen bottles for OH plus a large bottle kept in abeyance for if there is a power cut.She has an electric machine that generates oxygen from the air for 16 hours per day.
I have now been told I can only have four small oxygen bottles and the larger reserve bottle needs to be returned as they need all the oxygen they can get for corona cases. I can well understand this and as the larger bottle has never been used, hopefully it can do someone some good.

Hope everyone is coping ok and things get back to normal ASAP.

          TTFN and look after yourselves.

Just watched a program saying if you separate the yolks from the whites and whisk each separate, that eggs freeze very well. You live and learn!

I've frozen eggs in bun trays previously but found the yolk goes rubbery - so it does work for baking if you whisk them well.
(If anyone tries this make sure you use silicone trays cos it's tricky prizing them out of metal trays!)
Never tried separating them though... will give it a go

Any how good afternoon all, chilly start, but now very warm,I saw that about eggs this morning,it has also been said on here several moons ago,it did say to give them a good mix up,prior to freezing, whether separated or not, also about putting in a poly bag as well as bun tins,i shall try this, then use to make a cake another day, that will be a good guide for me,the only things i do not know yet,are how long to defrost,
Sown several seed this morning, more to do,son planted all my spuds yesterday,he has a furrow thing on the smaller rotorvator, one swipe up for a trench, place spuds in,then swipe up between the rows to cover in a small mound, other ground has also been made finer,is now ready for me to go sow parsnips,is nice to see the sunshine feel it's warmth and get the feel better strength, lets stay good2ourselves.
                Best to be safe snadger,

                • Afternoon, all.

Late show today. Feel like I've been busy but can't really say what exactly I've done. Anyway, doubtless more of the same is required.

Grey and wet today. The land higher up can't absorb any more water now and it's all flowing down valley very quickly. My veg patch and other fields are now a sea of yellow, pine pollen floating on the floodwater. More rain due in a few days. And supposedly in a few more days after that. The mosquito population is going to be dire this year.

Got to go into town this afternoon to the chemist's... Not looking forward to it. Mr Snoop has given me all kinds of instructions as to what to do, where to stand, what to do if there's someone else in the doorway... Fortunately even he has decided the mask he devised is over the top.

Can we see the mask he devised? Mr Greenishfing was dreaming up a 6 foot high snorkel until I asked him how he intended going through doorways.

                      • Good afternoon lovely sunny day today with a cool wind blowing, if the wind drops it would be quite a warm day, have been sterilising some soil and mixing it with sand and compost in preparation for filling my baskets, I am using a weed wand to heat the soil as OH has hung out a washing and if I got soot or smoke on it, it would be like "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" only amplified keep safe keep your distance and keep happy
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                            • Good afternoon.
Spent a lovely day in the garden.
Moved the window boxes out of the greenhouse.
Moved all the dahlia tubers out of the conservatory and into the greenhouse.
Potted up some lavender cuttings I rooted last sutumn.
Dead headed some more daffodils and stored them under the balcony until next autumn.
                              Walked in the lane.
                              Did some laundry.
Son and daughter in law came by unexpectedly with some groceries.
Got to see my grandson and had a wave and a smile.
All in all it was a good and the sun shone all day even though there was a cool breeze.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
