      • I've been out clapping too and chatting at a distance to the neighbours. Him next door but one let his young daughter dye his hair for something for her to do - its bright orange/yellow
His son was banging a saucepan so hard with a wooden spoon - that the spoon broke in half!!
It was a good laugh. The way things are we only see our neighbours every Thursday night.
        Very strange!!
There'll be some party when this is all over.

I can't imagine taking a shed to the dump - it must have a use for something.

Rary, your flowers are very pretty - did Mrs rary tell you what to do?

Its beautiful here - very sunshiny. I've been filling module after module with seeds - big seeds like beans, courgettes and tromboncinos. Also filled 4 planters with the early sown tomatoes - I kept 12 - and they're in the GH permanently. No more inning and outing for them.

On days like this, its easy to forget all the hardships in the world outside my garden. I hope you are all staying safe.
No VC the garden is all my work, OH tells me what she would like, I do what I want

OH us making hotcross buns using his sourdough mix ! they smell lovely*
Just had to gooogle yr buns Thelma - mmmm!

Going to crack on with the gardening now and hopefully sit out again for a while afterwards.

Anyone got any plans for the weekend?
Much of the same for us although I'm making salmon quiche for today (not religious but we always had fish on Good Friday) and I bought some lamb 3 weeks ago (now defrosting!) for Sunday.
Which reminds me -I need to hunt out those Cadbury's eggs I hid from myself!

Oh and I'm going to contact all my family and spesh friends to pass on a smile and let them know I'm thinking of them

Keep safe peeps and let's hope others take heed and stay at home.

              See ya later!

I'm surrounded by neighbours rary and the garden is small so sadly I don't think that's a plan. I did think about it though.

I can only assume this lockdown is slowly putting what is left of my working brain into hibernation! The shed base is being reused but it never ocurred to me to use some of the more usable side planks for raised beds. I'm actually embarrassed. The osb roof is rotten through and through so will need to be dumped as will the stuff that was inside it (old seized very rusty tools that used to belong to my Dad for example and various other stuff I hoarded for no good reson really. )

Anyway, if the rain stays off today I will go out and look at the beast with fresh eyes. Cheers VC.

Hope you all have a good day folks. Stay healthy. x

                    Another lovely sunny day.

                      • Morning all. Happy Easter.

Just did my good deed for the day by volunteering to run my
Sister to the shops to get a big bag of tatties her friend had got her from Morries. She was going out to get a bus with her trolley bag when I spotted her whilst walking the dog.
I intend doing a a bit of weeding in the herbaceous border at home then sow some cucumbers and courgettes in pots for the window sill.

I might even get to the lottie later to sow carrots and parsnips.

TTFN and look after yourselves and others if need be

                        • Just on the cusp of morning and afternoon here. So, I'll say good afternoon, seeing as that's what it'll be in ten seconds or so.

Mr Snoop is a born teacher. He's got no-one to teach anything to at the moment except me. It's very wearing... I've sent him out to go and do some kindling, not that we need any more this late in the year. But we're out of each other's hair this way.

Was thinking about making some hot cross buns today, but I've decided they're more faff than I've got the will for. Could be a ginger biscuit day instead seeing as they take next to no time.

Hope you survived the electric saw, Janie. Very brave after a G and T.

Right, on with the rest of the afternoon before that runs away with me too. Nice flowers, Rary. Great haircuts, guys. And gardening gal, you'd be surprised at how many people love old tools, seized or otherwise. Save them for a car boot sale if you've got the space.

Have a good rest of Good Friday, everyone. Catch you later.

Edited to add: Glad to read your positive news, Jay. Have a lovely day.

                          • Happy Good and sunshiny Friday

Apart from the meeces digging up some of bean seedlings, all is well in my little locked down world.
Been watching the crows chasing a squirrel through the trees. The crows have been rebuilding their nest in the top of an oak tree and the squirrel must have an eye on it and is looking for squatter's rights.
Hope you have a scrumptious Friday and the sun refreshes the parts it doesn't normally reach.

I was going to mention something similar about the old tools. There's nothing I like better than rutting through old rusty tools at car boots etc.. A well worn, well made (and usually balanced) spade is a joy to use rather than the plastic handled counterpart.
