Bright here but due to get cloudy a bit later.

Ordinarily I'd say thank goodness it's Friday. But the days are just going by at the moment. Lockdown extended here till 9 May and already talk of it going on till the end of May for much of the population.

Hoping to be able to get a bit done in the garden today, conditions underfoot permitting. Ah well, better late than never.

Dull start to the day here.
Perfect gardening day in reality so I'm deciding whether to play with the secateurs again( sooooooo rewarding!) or sand down a desk. Hmmm !

Hope your FIL stays safe AP. Lovely day here today. I made myself a nice toasted cheese sarny for breakfast after watching one being made ont telly.

I need to empty the car now of all the old bits of wood I've dragged from the allotment. I'm not up to getting the chainsaw out today though. Once car is emptied back to allotment for another load, grabbing a bit of shopping and posting ebay sales on the way.

Dishes done, washing done so next job is to hang it out to dry then get the wheelbarrow out

Is it me or is the site not quite as bad today. I don't know, maybe I've just hit lucky!

Hello everybody,

I haven't been on here for years, I lost my love of gardening after losing my two dogs and it's taken until now for me to finally get growing again. As always, I am late sowing, only started last week, but I am up to date now.

It's another lovely day here in North Cambs. I'm turning part of my veg beds over to the Charles Dowding's no dig way of doing things plus I have been given a bath which I think I shall use for roots and other little type crops. So a new start for me in many ways.

Off to get busy.

Good evening its been a lovely day today the warmest day this year, I got a delivery of onion sets this morning so got them planted right a way, then planted up some baskets then had a quiz night with the family on zoom next week I will have a power cut if they keep asking questions about music and football

Hello and welcome back, peanut. Sorry to hear about your dogs. Very sad. Hope you have a good growing year, though.

Bright here at the moment, but on the cool side. More rain due over the next couple of days, but supposedly not much. Took the scythe to part of my small veg patch yesterday. Miserable work. The ground is very wet, so I'm crushing the soil, but the grasses are head high and making seeds. So it feels like it's a bit now or never. The main patch is impossible. The ducks have moved on but the lake remains. Trying to focus on the positive - there will be tomatoes, eventually... Anyway, the positive is Mr Snoop took pity on me and will get the strimmer out and do some more for me. And the fence will be knocked back into place. And I will at last start some seeds.

Good to see you back peanut -really sorry to hear about your dogs.

Talking about OHs taking pity Snoop -I did manage to sand down the desk yesterday but realised my back was very much not happy about it. Within a couple of hours I was in agony .
Darned back.
Still -OH brought me paracetamol, hot water bottle , then gave the desk 2coats of paint. Good man
Bit easier today but I'm going to need to be very careful over the next few days
Still -can't complain -Tis better than having C19 eh?

I'll probably pot on the tomatoes into 3" pots later.

Thank you for the welcome backs and doggie kindness folks, bought tears to my eyes!

Today is Autumn, dull, misty and rather chilly. Going to be a pootling/pottering kind of day, lots of stuff to tidy up, more seeds to sow.
My greenhouse has been a dumping ground so now needs a good clearing out, moss removal from the roof and general cleaning, I really wish I wasn't on a water meter, I'd love to use the power washer, but I think that will use up a huge amount of water, so bucket and sponge it will have to be.

Blue tits are nesting and roosting in their new box, no signs of egg sitting yet, it's been very dry this month, wonder if that's why they're delaying things. Oh and I have Tree Bumblebees nesting in the old Blue Tit box. Happy days.
