  • Morning all, I see the Vine is slow again this morning really hope they manage to sort things out!
Started off sunny but it’s dull now, no idea what’s happening today, maybe just more of the same!
Enjoy your day everyone, hope you have sunshine. x

      • Happy VE day everyone.

Its took me half an hour to load this comment! I think everything negative has already been said about the forum up to now so I am not going to dwell on it.

          • Good afternoon a good bit of cloud about but still a pleasant day I decided to take a short walk over the back this morning that's going into a field with no footpath or track, so well isolated and while out I collected some molehills so now need to sterilise it and then I will pot on some begonia, need to go its feeding time

            • Good evening, watching GW just now after having a 2 or 3 brandies possibly not the best condition for posting, but as I said watching GW makes me realise how much pleasure comes from gardening, both with growing and also people who you come across on garden forums, people whom I have never met and sadly not likely to meet in the flesh but would consider as friends, it saddened me that there seems to be a devision starting and I sencerly hope that things settle down and comes back to what to me the forum is about, the pleasure of gardening, passing on knowledge and making friends, I have looked in other forums but must admit I much prefer the Vine, possibly due to loyalty, or because I have as I said came in contact with good people that hopefully stay with the Vine. What ever way things go I wish you all well, I now wish you all a goodnight and I do hope that you all stay safe and keep healthy but most important stay happy God Bless

              • Pre Mornin n'alln'all.

only managed to get on once yesterday as our internet was rediculously slow too!
so...I thought I'd try just now as this place always seems quicker at stupido'clock.fr.

I had a lovely day -thanks peeps for all your kind wishes. I forgot to buy a special bottle of wine as I got rather stressed when I went shopping the other day , but OH came to the rescue and pulled out a bottle of pink champagne! I'd bought it pre Xmas and forgotten about it! Yum!

yeh rary -it's a shame this upgrade doesn't seem to be going to plan but I know what you mean about this place. It's utterly frustrating how things have been and are but I too am an optimist . The owners make a living from this place so they need it working properly and it will get sorted eventually -we are fornutate to be able to meet our 'friends' here , new and old.

Things seem to be changing a little bit at a time- I 've just noticed that you can look at several pictures someone posts by clicking on arrows at the side. That is how it used to be many years ago and us so much quicker. I'm pleased that has come back.

Flo -don't worry -we're all trying to get the hang of this new set up as it's changing all the time!
you should try modding!!!! Some of the buttons haven't appeared yet but we've found longerwinded ways to do 'stuff'
                It has to get easier.

Right -so Hibou says good morning and I'm back off to the land of nod for a while...see you later!
                And as rary says-keep smiling!

                  • Good morning
Rather dull at the moment but not cold (already opened up the greenhouse) , having had a rubbish sleep feeling too warm it must've been a warm night.
Yesterday we decided to nip with some supplies to my mum and fit the pigeon deterrent spikes on top of her greenhouse, also took her paint we ordered , some cuttings I'd taken too. Also ordered a battery mower, her corded one is such a pain to use. Await its delivery.
Called at the farm shop near her for bbq things , we saw alot of VE day tea parties going on everyone dressed in wartime dress. Some effort gone in to many, nice to see people enjoying themselves on their front lawns.
Today is set to be warmer so i am going to crack on with jobs of washing then final inside clean of caravan which I was going to do yesterday. Dogs pestering to go out now though.
                    Have a good day everyone.

                    • Nice to see you here this morning, Nicos. Glad you had a lovely day. And thanks for your sensible and caring words, Rary and Nicos.

Bright outside today. But this is the calm before the next round of rain. 40 mm/litres per square metre due tomorrow, with more to follow. Gah!

Mr Snoop going to do more work on the chicken compound today. Me, I'm going to settle into a bit of paid work and some more scything. Plus, need to chop up some of the stuff I've scythed for the coop.

                      Have a lovely Saturday, everyone.

Edited to add: morning CG. You snuck in just ahead of me. Good to see you here too.

                          • Good afternoon a nice warm day again with a bit of a breeze, the overnight temperature in the greenhouse was12.3c and outside was 8.8c, I have been busy weeding most of the morning but again I went over into the field and collected more soil from the molehills, now I am going out to pot on some dahlias and marigolds just having a coffee break just now, will catch you later

                            • HI playmates. I've just came back from the allotment where I intended to just cover up the stuff in the greenhouse as the forecast for the next couple of days is exceedingly cold.
Whilst there I noticed a good few of my tatties were showing so I had to spend some time earthing those up as well. One problem I've found with no-dig is that when it comes to earthing up it can be hard on the arms with a draw hoe.
Another job I hadn't planned to do, but needed doing was to hoe off the weeds on the paths around my raised beds. Job completed and weeds left on surface to wilt.
