  • All is right with the world: FF is here before me. Morning, FF. Big grin just for you, FF.

I'm keeping the faith, Bramble. It's true, not many of us left. But more will join, newbies and perhaps some oldbies. So long as we have Nicos and Burnie, we'll be all right. Admin really needs to know how important you two are to us, Nicos and Burnie.

Bright here at the moment, but everywhere is sopping wet. Toads everywhere, big and small. And the cicadas started up last night. So it's a right racket out there at night-time now, with the toads competing with them. The blackbird has given up singing.

Heard my first bee-eater of the year yesterday. Couldn't see it, but just to hear it was lovely.

Plenty to be doing today. No chance of gardening, though.

Anyway, catch you later, guys. Have a lovely day, whether you're in shorts or trousers (and other items, of course).

    • Probably quicker to go for another post rather than edit my earlier one to say: morning, CG. Snuck in ahead of me. Lovely thought by OH. Hope you get lots of pleasure and plants from it.

      • Nicos, the big grin smilie that I clicked on didn't appear in my post, even though it showed while I was editing. Not sure they're working right.

          • Well that's odd. Only half my post was posted. I'll try again.

edit - it's done it again. It doesn't like me putting in the degree symbol for the temperature. I guess that will be why smileys don't work either.
            Hope the toothache's gone LD.

            • Mornin n'alln'all!

so when is your actual burpday rary?
I could spend hours researching last year's posts but I'm sure it's quicker just to ask you!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words Snoop-much appreciated, but there are other mods too working in the background just trying to keep spammers at bay

I was rather upset yesterday as I had a wander around the garden/field and spotted a plum tree which has split down the middle due to the storms we had a couple of days ago. Yup -it's only a tree but it's sad to see the massive wound down the trunk to ground level. Not quite sure what to do to protect the exposed inner trunk .....

Toothache LD?... never a good time for that -are dentists actually still working in the uk? Hope it settles quickly xx

OH went on his first cycle ride since lockdown and he clearly enjoyed himself - never heard him chatter on so much as when he got back.

Might do some weeding later if the wind drops...

see ya later peeps (-it's good to see peeps still hanging on here in there on this site )

              • Morning all. Blooming freezing out there this morning, but sunny spells keep appearing now and again. Horrible weather here yesterday afternoon as well, hail, snow and rain all at once.. (eek)
I have hung the washing out but I don't think there will be much drying today
OH is sitting hugging the woodburner and the wood pile is getting a hammering. Luckily I've been able to scrounge some old fencimg and had a decent session with the chainsaw chopping it up.
A trip to the lottie will be on the cards at some time today mainly to check up on stuff.I have some lettuce seedlings which are ready to plant out but I have a few leeks in the place they are to go. I have eaten so many leeks lately, I will turn into a leek, trying to use up a glut before they run to seed. I have tried freezing them but I like leeks with a bit of crunch.

Anyway, that's all for now folks. Look after yourselves and stay safe.

                • I've emailed admin to try and get some answers, but as the last one wasn't answered I'm not holding out much hope, it could be that the office is not working or if it is, maybe on a skeleton crew due to social distancing. If I hear anything I will let you know.

                  • Hello all. I’m still persevering. It has taken a little while to load including being told twice that the site was unavailable.

It’s cold today and I’m considering putting the heating back on. The zip has gone on one side of the door to my recently erected PT. I need it to shut properly as the local cats think it’s their new loo. I’ll look in the Under Cover section and see if anyone has any advice.

I’ve also decided to move all the stuff that needs burning or going to the tip, to the bottom of the garden as I’m not ready to deal with that part of the garden yet.

Someone suggested I post photos, but I’ll leave it until the site is sorted so they won’t disappear.
