I wasn't going to post this but, JJ, you've given me the perfect excuse.
Our village has a page on Facebook. Yesterday somebody posted a photo of a hedgehog. Deserving of a photo because they hadn't seen one for years. Loads of people commented. Made me happy to see it as I thought we didn't have any in this area.
Finding one of the baby sparrows I was talking about yesterday morning - it had fallen into the washing up bowl we use for water for the chooks.
It was sat in about 2" of water and shivering . Poor thing. So we took it out, dried it off a bit and left it in the sun near the hedge where the sparrows nest and about an hour later went back and it'd flown off. (And yes-we'd locked Hibou inside the house just in case she spotted it)
Think we might put a big stone in the bowl from now on....
Just very happy it survived!

^Oh, now I'm really excited. I saw some unusual looking poop the other day maybe 300 m from the house. Have just looked up hedgehog poo and lo and behold... looks just the same. Am familiar with fox poo, so pretty sure it wasn't that. Big grin on face now but vet has just pulled up...
Hearing chirping from one of our nest boxes. We had great tits in it a couple of years ago so I imagine it might be the same again (will keep a look out without disturbing the parents)
Last Year an Asian hornet started building a hive inside that very box

Just had some essential deliveries, delivered by our two small grandsons, hard to say bye when they left though keeping 2 metres apart, it's been 13 weeks.
Family calling unexpectedly at the same time.
Daughter and granddaughter called early afternoon.
Shortly after son, his wife and grandchild called.
So lovely to see them again.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
