Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!

There was a big commotion in the garden this morning. Magpies were very noisy and jays were squawking too.
Suddenly an owl burst into view followed by two magpies and three jays and a blackbird.
Although I've heard owls for 25 years I have never seen one before here. The owl disappeared into a big conifer and I did not see it again. It must have been about as the blackbird kept giving alarm call.
Finding a repeat of Gardener's World on BBC2 at 08.15hrs. A lovely, gentle start to the day.

Dozens of house martins and bee eaters scooting up and down the valley. I guess they're filling up before heading off to warmer climes. Love the sight and sound of bee eaters.
Oh and Mr Snoop has just brought me a cup of tea and a couple of figs.
We too have Autumn migrants arriving, someone somewhere will be telling us we are in for a bad winter, I love the seasons, will try to make some leaf mould this year.
