Thanks Snoop I have been thinking of installing a battery as we are usually out during the day and all the electricity that is made goes into the grid whereas with a battery I could use it at night
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

It's amazing how frustrating it is when the electric cuts out. We have a log fire, which doesn't throw out much heat, candles, big bottle of gas and a 2-hob portable gas stove. Plus a Cob oven which really needs a good road test - not that I'm tempting fate... I wonder how the homeless cope. I've heard many ride around on buses just to warm up... makes me feel very grateful for what we have. There but for the grace of God go all of us.

Living in the Highlands, we are well kitted out with cosy jumpers, jackets, scarves... you could always go for a brisk walk to warm up, unless it's chucking down outside.

In the middle of a power cut now. It’s been off since about 12. Caused by one of the electric poles catching fire. It happens at least once a year.
