Hi all, it's been a while!
Things have sucked immensely over the past months (many months!) and I haven't really been participating in life much but as ever, time helps things pass and I've started this year in a better place.
I wont bore you with all my woes but it was one serious thing after another for a while and it all got a bit much tbh. Family health problems (youngest / heart issues, eldest / mental health issues, mutt / health issues, money issues and stress over a legal matter meant I was running on empty so I kinda withdrew for a while.
Kids got sorted out as did the money and legal matters but sadly I had to euthanise my boy and it hit me so much harder than I expected it would. I knew it was coming but I just wasn't prepared for that level of hurt. I don't know if any of you remember me talking about him previously, but he and I were together 24/7. I had to sleep downstairs on a mattress with him due to his health problems. He had Laryngeal Paralysis and also MegaEsophagus which we were managing but it was tough. Then out of the blue he got an aggressive cancer that reduced him to skin and bone within a few short weeks and when it became clear it was 'that' time, I had to help him go.
I didn't have too much interest in doing anything after that. The garden got left to do it's own thing. My boy was always with me in the garden, he used to guard the carrot bed, (he loved carrots with a passion) so it just felt like an empty space without him.
Now though, the worst has passed and although the sadness never really goes, I've adapted to life without his hairy ass getting under my feet in the polytunnel so I'm about to start trying to get the garden into shape again now. I've decided to make a completely fresh start and move/dismantle/doctor sheds and the tunnel, with a view to shifting things around and building a structure that actually fits the space properly.
So.......I'll be back posting, asking daft questions and generally not using the seach function as much as I probably should (sorry in advance VC )
Hope you don't mind me posting a few gratuitous pics of my boy. Also there's a pic of some of the 'stan79' carrots that both mutt and I enjoyed. (The carrots seeds were kindly passed on by stan79, hence the name, thank you.)
