Have you all forgotten what its like to ne a teenager. When i was a teenager we all went around with our portable radios blaring. It if was'nt the mobile it would be something else. Teenagers will always find something to persecute their elders with. Live and let live i say.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Abslutely - teenagers need to rebel, to find their feet and establish their place in society. Consider though, if older people tolerate and condone their behaviour, it is no longer a rebellion and one of the important facets of development is thwarted.

We owe it to these kids to give them a hard time!

If early research was correct we're going to have a heck of a lot of fried brains!
Or has this been deemed poppycock now?

'Early research' is by it's nature flawed : We're not going to know the true risks for another few decades.

I saw a brilliant Japanese device a few years ago called 'Shut Up Mobile Phone' - which could zap any device within 100 metres. Marvellous!

Each to his own, so have no problems with people using their phones, music machines etc, but why do I have to listen to them rabbiting on, the dreadful call tones, the leaking music from the headphones, it's all invasion of public space and pushes my blood pressure up considerably.
Can't we cope with silence anymore?
And it's not just teenagers, sometimes think business people are the worst, those sort of boasting calls they have so we know they're a big cheese in the office.

We didn't have (or want) mobile phones until I went away with work to Italy for a week - couldn't contact Himself and my Ma had just had a major op. We both bought very cheap phones with no camera or extras. They both still work well and we mainly text - in real English.

However, I really do have a beef with people who think they are so important they need to use their phone in the car - or worse, huge lorry.

that's where that other modern invention comes in handy ... the digital camera. Quick point and flash at the culprit soon shames them into putting down the phone. It's been known to work on hoodies too, climbing into a building site next to my mum's.

Ok people now another point of view. Not being a show off or anything but this reply comes from my mobile. Its got a radio , mp3 player, camera ,internet , and best of all a sat nav built in. If you add up the price of all that as individual items you dont have much change left from £1000 and as i dont have a mp3,digital camera or radio and cant justify spending £400 - £500 on a sat nav just for weekend work i recon its good value at £40 /month.800 free mins and unlimited internet help me stay in touch when im away driving (and i do use the handsfree kit ). Now i know it sounds as if i cant live without a phone but when i go fishing it stays in the car. Some things are just too good to be interupted. Anyone want to put a price on your two kids calling you up to tell you that they love you when you cant be there to put them to bed ?
ps - i will be back soon ,computer is very sick at the moment-needs surgery and some intensive care

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

I find listening to someone else's 'phone conversation so annoying!!Especially when it sounds as though it may be interesting and you can only hear one side of it!!!!

I overheard a young man on the bus answering his phone to a mate on Monday. He quite brazenly said he'd been to the police station and they wanted him to report back within a week with all the documents from when he was arrested last year for drink driving - including details of the fine and whether he paid it. I would have said, 'Can't talk now I'll ring you back'. Shameless is the word.
Other than that it was a nice ride!

Must admit that I wondered why they didn't have that info at the click of a mouse. We could do it in school for pupils' records and results.
