    Drying out a bit by today. Still very wet but could start getting ground ready for early potatoes. Hopefully be planted by thef weekend. Just need to get some compost from the heap for them as well.

    I find these days that the length of my rows is shortening somewhat. When I was younger, I used to do 30' rows, now I find 20' more manageable. Does anyone else find they are reducing the size of jobs or are you all Iron Maidens fit enough to do Ironmans.

      ^Not so much the length as the width. My beds are now 70-80 cm wide. Easy to reach into the middle, not too difficult to step over.

      Good luck with the tatties. I've decided not to bother this year.

        I find that as we get older we just have to make up for the lack of physical strength by using our brains more, using lighterweight tools, and being more pragmatic.
        I just have to convince my hips and knees of this!
