    • I do worry about how disorientating some older people will find this situation. Often, as people start to develop memory problems, they can mask it quite well by sticking to a particular routine. Take that routine away, and everything falls apart. I've seen it when people lost a pet, or when the local bus stops running.

OH isn't supposed to drink for health reasons, so I haven't been either. However.....I purchased three miniature bottles of red wine at the weekend, two small glasses in each. They're for weekends only. Roll on the weekend! I'll be raising my glass to you all.

        • I’ve got 5 gals of home brew white wine on the go, I’ll put another 5 gals on the go at the weekend, red this time. I’ve only got one spare bucket so I can’t make both at the same time. Hopefully I’ll be ok booze wise for the time being. I can’t find my siphon but I have a day or two to think about that one.

In the meantime I can’t believe how many jobs that I’ve been waiting to do that I’m getting through. Looking forward to being able to sit on the patio with a nice cold glass of wine and my book.

I'd been pondering getting back into home brew wines - think you may have tipped me into it, though looking around I've possilbe only got enough ingredients for 'prison wine'

              • Mr Snoop came back from the shops this morning shocked at how blasé everyone in the village is. The shopkeeper is doing her best to keep to the safety measures, but everyone else is ignoring them. I'm not surprised that shop assistants are terrified. Customers don't always behave well.

Anyway, apart from porridge oats, all items procured. No fresh veg, but frozen instead, so that's OK. All in all, a big win. No need to go out for a while now.

Time to celebrate. Two weeks and still no booze, so I'll have a cup of tea and some biscuits. Not rich tea, though. Whatever else they might be, they are not biscuits.

                • I think I've now had an email from just about every company I've ever had contact with, updating me regarding their coronavirus plan. I'm fed up of it now!

                  • Hmm... I've been a right sod at work today. I'm used to working at home - do it about 50% of the time - I'm not usually mean to the management but today PHB got it from me.

                    • Most of my neighbours down the street came out on their fronts to applaud all the key workers. That's a lovely thought.

The sarcastic so and so in me thinks they could've voted for a party that gives a damn about the NHS too, but hey.. can't have it all lol

My four days off now begins, and it may well start with buying a little car tomorrow! And take delivery of several parcels - the sales are on and I'm doing my bit to keep the economy going

                      • I've been out applauding the NHS too and had a socially distant chat with my neighbours, next door but one. Reaiised afterwards that they are the first people (apart from my Mum) that I've spoken to for about 2 weeks. That's not like me at all. I have been having very intellectual conversations with the dogs, chicken and a ladybird though.

                        • Today I got mad at first when I realised an elderly relative was trying to manipulate me. Then woke up to the fact that she was lonely and wanted company. Unfortunately, due to circumstances, there is nothing that I personally can do to help.
Life is so sh** at the moment.

                          • I didn't notice any clapping in our tiny village, place is in darkness, it's raining so maybe they did what I did and clapped but behind a closed door.

I've just rebought an orange gin for my daughter as the one she had seems to have mysteriously evaporated
Quite a lot of clapping here
