  • My son is a barber but, because we are on lockdown my hubby will have to trust me to cut his hair.
I have couple of scissors my son gave me and they should do the trick.
Not sure about my own hair, usually have it cut and coloured every 6 weeks.
It will be interesting to see how it pans out.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

        • haha I love it - so many bargain hair dos!

I have long hair, so it wouldn't be such a difficult thing to do myself, and I have done in the past. It's the colouring I don't particularly want to use a box for. Box blonde goes very platinum on my already light hair, so I look a bit bimbo-ish when I use a box blonde. I might always look a bit like a bimbo actually, but I prefer hairdresser dyes And I have the best hairdresser - he's the only one I know who can handle my fine AND thin scandinavian hair

The refurbed ones are a good deal, but following their website links I think they're currently out of stock.

            • I have just sent the email to my lettings agent requesting permission to dig a veg bed in the lawn. Fingers crossed they let me as it would be really helpful to minimise my need to go food shopping as much as possible.

If they do, it's going to be slug city, so I might not get much anyway...

                    • I went out yesterday to a small local supermarket for milk for myself and an elderly relative. She told me she had been rationing her milk........and it had gone off.
Everyone seemed to be behaving well and doing the "Coronavirus Dance", dodging and weaving in order to keep their distance.
There was even loo roll in the shop. A sign saying only one pack (of 18 rolls) each.
Who, for heaven's sake needs more?
I did see some interesting face masks (mainly homemade).
It was much quieter generally everywhere than it was a few days ago.

                      • Can anyone explain why Tony Blair is spouting on Sky news as if he's a Coronavirus expert? Who cares what he thinks?

                        • I am now so glad I have been hoarding books for a long while. I do normally frequent my local library regularly but if ever there is a pile of books somewhere with a request for donations I have to have a browse (and more often than not a purchase). I think it comes from spending time abroad where english fiction could be hard to come by. A relative was moaning about a shortage of reading material. The next time I take her some shopping I'll try and find her something she might enjoy among my board although we have very different tastes. She says I like "men's" books. (Thrillers, crime and adventure). She likes romance and historical romantic fiction.

                              That's true

We have set up a 'library box' along the terrace. Take out what you fancy, put in those you've finished with. Just wear gloves for touching the box and books and then leave the books to air for a couple of days for any virus to die before reading them. I've bagged a few, it seems that one neighbour shares my taste, I've taken theirs and mine have disappeared in exchange
