Hair all clippered I think it looks smart my wife thinks I look like trouble. Given me the urge to do more tidying, even dug out my kayak from behind the shed emptied out the pine needles and given it a good scrub, but I do draw the line at ironing.

I have reached the bottom of my seed boxes, while sorting out and - gulp - planning with the husband.. A carrier, a box, a tub and 2 small containers.. Yet failed to find a pack of calabrese, duh...
My 9 year now has her little bag of seed treasures she is planting in her first very own mini gardenAnything is possible with the right attitude, a hammer
and a roll of duct tape.

My gardening club's spring flower show is cancelled of course, so we're having a virtual show instead. It's mostly narcissus, with a few other bulbs. We've to take photos this week, name and division of each flower, and they'll be posted on the website. We've all been planning our entries since last autumn, so it's good that we can make something of them.
Fantastic thing technology, not just for virtual flower shows, but to keep in touch with people just now in a positive way. I'm able to have WhatsApp chats with pals, jokes, we send photos of our seedlings. Fairly lifts the spirits .
And this forum of course, full of knowledgeable and friendly folk. Thanks all!Last edited by Babru; 30-03-2020, 08:28 AM.Mostly flowers, some fruit and veg, at the seaside in Edinburgh.

Well, my husband's whiskey is definitely safe for now. I hadn't been shopping apart from local shop for milk for a good couple of weeks and the fridge was decidedly empty. I made a trip to local Al*i. It was a good choice. The queue was halfway round the carpark but not really that long as everyone was 2 metres away from the next person. There was a security guard on the door who was also wiping all the trolley handles and letting only a few shoppers in at a time....and fast-tracking NHS staff. Because the store was practically empty shopping was quick and no queues for the tills. Staff were constantly filling shelves. I got everything on my list apart from flour and lemons. I did get wine and gin. I'm sure my gin and tonic will be fine with lime instead of lemon. The whole trip took less than an hour. Hopefully I don't need to go shopping again for myself for a couple of weeks. However I have told elderly relatives to text me their shopping lists.

Having a bit of an giggle over the substitutes in my online shop. Everything bar one was a substitute and that bar one is something I caught online and changed. The fridge and freezer stuff I dealt with immediately but I’ve only just got round to the rest. I ordered a bag (usually 4) baking potatoes. The 1 bag was substituted with 1 potato. I ordered 1 red pepper, 1 green pepper and 1 yellow pepper. I have 3 red peppers. I have 5 trays of lamb steaks. 2 I ordered the others are subs. No pork so 2 of the other ingredients are technically redundant but I’ll just find another recipe. The bog standard bag of basmati rice is now 2 Tilda bags of fragrant rice.
I really don’t mind. I’m 1) lucky to get a slot, 2) lucky to be eating at all and 3) lucky to be able to afford it."I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)
