  • A bonus of the lockdown, I’m losing weight. Very little booze, I don’t often have takeaway, but it’s not unknown, so home cooked food and I’ve run out of pizzas. Time to work in the garden instead of running other people around. No chocolate.

      • I've been working my way through all the Doctor Who episodes on Iplayer.

I'm just about finished those and after numerous regenerations I have started watching on youtube the earliest versions which were shown in B&W .

He wasn't such a good guy in those early episodes, in fact he was a bit of a ****!
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

A lot of the Dr Who and Torchwood locations were local to me - I even walked in on one being filmed in the local woods once.
I like this website which is searchable for the film locations - if ever you're curious about where they are. Home Page - The Locations Guide to Doctor Who, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures
              Lots of useful/useless info too.

........and Jay, if ever you want Chicken, you only have to call my name.

No I haven't broadway but on your recommendation I may do so?

I'm watching the series, Vikings, which is good and Robin Hood which is not so good but I will persevere with it through lockdown

I have never been a one to watch telly, preferring to listen to the radio, especially sport.

With that all gone I am watching more gogglebox than I ever have. I'm turning into a Geordie couch potato.

Tesco have never had chicken in when I've been in after queuing for an hour, whereas Aldi always have chicken in and I have never had to queue.

I am a bit of a TV show addict (not watching it live) it stems from long train journeys to work therefore watched loads on my kindle/phone.

Vikings, love it can't wait for the finale

I was thinking of a TV/Film recommendations thread but didn’t want people to think I sat on my ar** all day!!
                      Cheers

Up at my Mum's t'other day, TV on Countdown (which she enjoys). Every time I went out to the kitchen, the TV Channel changed! Put it back to Countdown, walk out of room and it happened again, 3 times actually.
                        "Mum, are you changing channels?"
                        "No, haven't touched the remote"

Where is it, let me see!

So she leans over to pick up the remote from the table and the Channel changed again!!

Turns out, she was sitting on the spare remote and changing channels with her bottom.

                          • Watched the first episode of Torchwood now. Seems ok, like a grown up version of Doctor Who with Captain Jack branching out on his own.

                            • Yesterday, I watched the first half of the West Germany vs England game from 1990 but, because I knew what happened I couldn't sit still long enough to watch the second half. The same is true with movies and tv shows - I can't watch things again generally. One of the plus sides to getting older is that I'm beginning to forget things quicker, which might not generally be a good thing come to think about it, but is at least opening me up to some repeats of 90's movies and shows now

                              • Evening..any wine left ?
Been outside all day , turned out lovely .
Could smell a fire , thought oh great a bonfire couple.of doors up and took washing in and whoosh saw a load of flames take out a tree . Next thing fire engine appears.
Was on waste ground between houses , no idea what set it off.

                                Time to relax.

Great you have a slot Jay .

                                Pleased your goggleboxing yourselves folks.

                                Have a good evening
