  • Favourite sound?

At the moment I am loving the "plop, slush" sound of the ice dropping as my freezer defrosts. Been meaning to do it for ages. OH will be pleased, but it will be a race to see if I can fill it with lottie veg before he can fill it with lollies.

Later I will enjoy the sound of a cork popping

Waves splashing (or crashing) on the seashore. Very calming. (Closely followed by the sound of a cork popping). Definitely not the sound of birds outside my bedroom window specially in the summer when the little darlings wake up around 4 am.

The peace and quiet I get at the lottie, it washes over me and soothes me, I love it!
Not technically a sound I know!

For me, nothing beats the sound of silence but if I do have to hear anything what I like is
                    waves lapping on the shore
                    the burn running past
Children playing in the far distance.
I lived in France in a rented house for a while and what I loved was
lying in the bath in the morning
with the window open and the sun shining on me
listening to the cockerel at the bottom of the garden crowing his head off. Bliss.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

Church bells - any place .....any time! ( especially if they are hand pulled)
Maybe if I lived next door to a church though I might feel differently????

                          Logs crackling on a fire...

                          Waves sloshing over shingle...

                          Light wind through leaves...

Cats purring, bird song in the summer, children laughing (not giggling!)

Makes you appreciate your hearing doesn't it!!

I had a complaint about my dog barking (during the day) from the council - not sure which neighbour it was that couldn't tell us personally!!!

Let someone know - you don't have to suffer.

Once I knew, I acted on it.
