One of the best bit of equipment that I have in the greenhouse is a fish slice, at least I think that's what its called, my wife told me to put it out and rather galling than putting it in the bin I took it up to the greenhouse and I now use it for lifting and mixing compost with the slats in it it is ideal for breaking up lumps of compost and filling then levelling off seed trays, have you used any household item for the garden?

Tea strainer - for straining fermenting tomato seeds.
Old table knife, missing its handle so there's just a spike of metal that was inside the handle - used for dibbing tiny holes in compost: and the blade sharpened to a point - for removing plants from modules.
A teaspoon - for topping up compost in modules/pots.
Old teatowel/towels in every GH for drying hands.

Various items have been utilized over the years,my all time favourit,is the cerated edged bread knife,it has multiple uses, chop leaves of things before coming into home, trim edge of the lawn, cut the end of hose pipe,i have even cut thin bits of wood and plastic to use as plant labels,it's a wonderful little saw,as well as a chopper,
old used baking tins, they good for all sorts, sieve a little compost into for light covering on seeds, when potting on,empty a pot of seedlings into it,you know where they are and not get mixed up,standing pots in for water, general carry about,
trays are also good for transporting little pots ext about.sigpicAnother nutter ,wife, mother, nan and nanan, love my growing places, seed collection and sharing, also one of these

Strips of old towelling for wicking up water ingo plant pots..
Old tights for storing onions.
I use shoe laces to tie back my rambling rose against the wall.
Old sieve for sieving soil to cover fine seeds.
Clothes pegs, so many uses.
Empty shampoo bottles to cover the top of bamboo canes.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
