  • Doing it all again?

    Hi,
Is the old saying "your schooldays are the best days of your life" true & if so would you like to do it all over again. I'd have to say that for me it's not true as I hated school & everything that went with it. But maybe you have a different outlook?

My schooldays were something I really enjoyed and they set me on my way to a life that I have enjoyed.

Do it again? You bet! And a vote of thanks to all of my teachers (except maybe one or two)

I only spent 2 yrs at secondary school (homeschooled previous to that and studying at home now for my junior cert!) and I wouldn't mind repeating some bits but 90% of it, no. lots of horrible chavs, mean teachers etc. best time of school for me was lunch time and a quarter to four lol.

hated school while is was there, left at 16, realised my error went back to college at 18, uni etc after. best time of my life, no worries, no bills, no kids, no serious relationships, lots of beer.

would love to be as carefree again, but the mortgage etc stops me

I enjoyed school. But then I enjoy everything (or avoid it!)

Didnt like school at all. I did very well academically but the pressure to get every last 'O' level available was silly. Sixth form wasn't too bad and I loved university. Even thogh I was seriously ill for much of my time there, I remember it as a very carefree and happy time.

That said, I'm absolutely an 'onwards and upwards' person. I try and make the most of every day and see the positive in everything I can, even if it's only something very small on an otherwise miserable day (yeah, I know, Pollyanna has nothing on me! lol!).

School was great up until A levels, then lack of books (one between 3); not being able to have my own choice of A levels because of timetable clashes, and general teenage laziness meant I kind of dropped out. I stopped going to classes and spent my time cramming in the town library instead ... got an A for English Lit, but failed sociology, lol

Bullied at the start of my schooling right through to the end of it.
would love to have done horticulture, but that was just for the naughty boys and girls......gerrrr
Still, I can make up for it now, and learn what I want to, buy taking courses and reading.
                  I am content!
