  • Woodchip mulch

Browsing through the local Sunday rag last night and spotted an advert for a local company who provide the above at £15 per tonne delivered.

    Sound like a good price?

I'm thinking of buying a load or two for my paths...

Our woodchippings are free, from a local garden landscaper (lawn mower service). I use it for my paths, it's lovely, smells really nice, keeps your boots clean, but does tend to grow fungi this time of year, and you need to replace it each year too.

I used cedar chips on the paths and they do smell lovely, especially after it rains. Really easy to spread on top of black fabric ground covering so you could increase the depth if you have too much. Also they're quite light coloured so makes the plot look good too ... I wish I'd covered the paths sooner - it's great to walk around and not get stuck in the mud (heavy clay soil).
