I think if the old villager's really didn't want the tree's they could have dug them up instead of breaking them ,maybe they are the village idiot's.I wish there were tree's in front of my home to stop the football from the local kid's hitting the house ,fence and my plant's.Stock's would be a good thing for such thing's i reckon.

These trees are a long way from the houses at least the length of 10 double deckers, and not near any boundaries. Why did they not ask for them to be moved...dont destroy them!
what makes me most sad is the destruction of the young trees
The boastful attitude of those who did it
The upset caused to those who used their own time to make the village look nice.
will try and post a pic?

If somebody did that here where I live, they'd be lynched.
I suppose one of the joys of living in this rural area is that plants of every description - well, except one or two pernicious or dangerous weeds - are not only tolerated or encouraged but also eaten under the right sircumstances.
On another Forum there's a discussion about why the French sometimes get anti-Brit and the shaven headed, loud mouthed, beer belly, vest wearing gobshite coming to France on holiday for cheap booze (bit stereotypical I know) are usually quoted.
Now I know roughly where they live when they're not on holiday and one of the reasons we left the UK.
Mindless morons and as for the planters being incomers, so what, incomers here who take a pride in the commune are regarded as being good neighbours and people who make a positive contribution to the area.Last edited by TonyF; 13-10-2007, 08:34 AM.TonyF, Dordogne 24220
