  • Free planting buckets!

It has just come to my attention that the black buckets that are used for displaying flowers out side of a supermarkets are thrown in the bin and at best may be recycled.
This was told to me by my partner who works for a leading supermarket and acted on by me so we now get them for free to supply the allotment society .
I'm not saying all supermarkets do this but if you ask all they can say is no, the size are ideal for peppers or eggplants .

Our local Morrisons sells them 99p for 8 (usually more than 8 in the stack though).

I asked at the local Tesco and Asda who both claim the buckets are sent back.

I work at the Co-op on the island and i bring loads of them home each week. Get OH to drill a hole in the bottom for drainage and grow peppers etc in them. They only throw them away if i dont take them so why not recycle and make good use of them

Not any more, they were bought out by Kwiksave here and then the whole lot collapsed.
