why can't I enjoy live music? We just went to see Happy Mondays (I'd vaguely heard of them, but thought they were Manic Street Preachers).
I had an awful evening of being deafened, shoved, elbowed, trodden on and had 3 drinks tipped over me. And I paid £20 for the privilege!

    Am I missing the point?
    Am I old?

Alas George is no longer with us
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

You have to be a certain age to enjoy it Two Sheds. Now that I'm an uncertain age - I can't be having with the racket any more.

          Hi,

I went see the Rezillos on Friday, they were great and very energetic.

I came home knackered. My OH who plays in the band is the baby at 49 he's just done 4 nights after working all week and is fine!

Not sure how they do it!

The last gig I went to was to hear(or see?) Floggin' Molly. At my advanced age I didn't risk being trodden on etc. but stayed at the back.I had a wonderful, ageless time!
Also went to see(hear?) the Pogues, amazing! The age group must have varied between eighteen and, well, maybe not eighty, but there were a lot of us oldies there.Again I stayed at the back and ,whilst wishing I were young enough to be in the crush, had a whale of a time!!Keep gigging--just stay at the back!

I saw the Commitments not too long ago - very 'refined'!

Not been to much since Glasto and unfortunately I had to return my tickets for the White Stripes seeing as they've cancelled their tour. Love going to gigs, nothing to do with age, if you like the music and then you'll have a good time, you only feel old if it's not your scene and there seem to be lots of kids enjoying themselves, in reality you've just gone to the wrong gig.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

We're into pretty heavy stuff, but nowadays I don't go in the mosh pit. I pay to have a seat (e.g. MEN Arena, Birmingham NEC)

I used to enjoy crowd surfing and getting squashed and elbowed and jumping up and down, but I get very tired standing up, and I don't like crowds anymore.

Not because I'm ill or anything, or even old; I'd just rather have a seat there if I need to sit down!

I don't even drink at gigs anymore, as I begrudge paying ridiculous amounts of money for alcohol (and water!!) and I'd like to remember seeing the band, not an alcohol-filled blur.

God, I sound like my mum!

                      Guess my age anyone??

I'm going to see Billy Connolly at the end of the month.
                            Really chuffed I got tickets.

After being a driver of one of the trucks that toured Oasis when they played Knebworth in August 96 I havent been to anything as good since. They were one of my favourite bands and when I got the phonecall to tell me that I'd got the job I went into a daze for about 3 hours after.I could tell plenty of backstage stories but wont as I would incriminate myself as well but needless to say - a great time was had by all.
Deff Leppard in the Ulster Hall in Belfast was another special one . Total of about 1100 people and no one any more than 100 feet away from Joe Elliot and the lads.
Biggest mistake was turning down 4 FREE tickets to see Queen at Slane Castle in Ireland in 1986.I still regret that one

Now I can't be ar**d with the pushing and shoving and beer spilling.
There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.
