I went to see Reverend & The Maker a couple of weeks back, who were absolutely brilliant! Anyone who hasn't heard of them should really check them out. Going to see Stereophonics in November and really looking forward to that. Agree that Snow Patrol are a great live band, and you're unlikely to come back covered in bruises!! I do like my music though, so I see quite a few local bands, and don't mind getting a bit squashed in the process!

Went to IOW Festival this year and saw lots of good bands there, including Snow Patrol, Keane, Kasabian, Groove Amarda, and was right at the front for The Rolling Stones who were totally amazing! I wouldn't particularly count myself as a RS fan, but even I have to admit that live they are quite amazing, the energy Mick Jagger has (even at 1000 years old!) is unbelievable...

Not my bag at all... (And they put a lyric sheet in the album??!! What's that all about??)
I've been to a couple of gigs like that in Manchester. My sis took me, saying, "You like their stuff, I've played it to you", so I've gone along with her, and haven't been able to recognise the songs at all

It was all growling and howling down the mic "Wooaarrghhhh" every few seconds! On their CD's the bands have been quite good, but live, they're appalling!

The best gig I went to was in 1989? to see Black Sabbath, their last tour with Ozzie. I think when we went to see the Pogues that may well have been their last tour with Shane McGowan. We shall see,I believe there may be a gig or two left in these old bones!!

            Expensive night

I saw Madonna at Earls Court for the start of her drowned world tour, there was a big media scrum as it was the start of her big comeback.

The most exciting part of the night was going through all the press and interviewers, all the touts and hangers on and the crowds to get in. then it went all down hill when she came on stage and started to sing. Most scripted, boring, dull disappointing night.

Not been to too many gigs in recent years but in the distant past I have seen :
              Jimi Hendrix.
              The Doors
              The Who
              Jethro Tull
              Ten Years After
              Deep Purple
              The Rolling Stones
              The Moody Blues
              Black Sabbath
              Plus Many more
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

Deff Leppard in the Ulster Hall in Belfast was another special one . Total of about 1100 people and no one any more than 100 feet away from Joe Elliot and the lads.
Biggest mistake was turning down 4 FREE tickets to see Queen at Slane Castle in Ireland in 1986.I still regret that one

Now I can't be ar**d with the pushing and shoving and beer spilling.
The biggest regret.........turning down the chance to see Cream's last concert in Nov 1968 For FREE a loaded friend had a box!!

Been to so many gigs over the years. Probably one of the best or best remembered was The Beatles in 1963 in Dublin and Brian Adams about 10 years ago. The worst was probably Tina Turner, although i am a big fan of hers she sang so many unknown songs and none of her hits. Felt totally cheated.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
