  • Trumpet blowing

Not to blow my own trumpet...but.

I have been doing some Conservation and recycling volunteer work with the Council and at the Allotment.

And the other day get an email, I have been nominated for a green award!!

The local Press turn up at home and do an interview and take some photos.

So I have the afternoon off and pop down the local Theatre where the awards are being held. Thinking its just going to be a few bearded hippies and the local scrap man. But the place is full about 500 people (Lucky I wore the suit).

I didn't have a clue what I was there for. One of the other allotments had people there and I thought they had mixed me up with them.

Anyhow the Mayor, MP and leader of the Council are there and I get awarded:
Croydon Green Household of the year.

Well done you keep up the good work. Its really nice when you get some recognition for doing something good for the community.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Fantastic news. People should be recognised when they go the extra mile. Award yourself a pat on the back (or is that like licking your own elbow?

        Well done that man!

Photos....I am still trying to get copies but they had a great big one of me and the boy on the wall....It was like a photo of Stalin.

They are going to do an article on me next week in the paper, If they publish it I will copy a link here.
