As Peter says, you might not be aware that your company is keeping tabs on your internet use, my O.H. 's firm have some 'blocking' which doesn't just block 'dodgy' websites but some that are totally innocent & they can get a record of all sites visited from the staffs company laptops, blackberries etc. They seem to be fairly tolerant though as long as you don't spend all day on personal business! Luckily I log on here at home so don't have those problems.

Practice makes perfect with this function - I should know, I've been using it successfully for years!!! lol
Ctrl + Tab is better as it hops straight out of what you are in to the next running application, without having to pick something from a list.Always thank people who have helped you immediately, as they may not be around to thank later.

Sorry if anyone is glazing over, but it is an important dfference. If you are using Internet Explorer 7, Firefox or Opera browsers, it will just move to the next browser tab, not to the spreadsheet you have on standby!

What does it do? It is basically a multiple-space key. Alone it tabulates along a document, moves between fields in web documents and in many form-based applications. With the shift key it tabs backwards, and we have already discussed it in combination with Ctrl and Alt.
This is based on Windows up to XP, I have no idea about Vista, but assume it to be substantially as previous versions.

Crikey you lot! I've learnt alot there.
Another downside I found today ..... sitting in the middle of the office I can't see out of any nice windows and those I can see out of look into a blank wall. So I got quite a surprise when I left the office at lunchtime to find the sun shining and a wonderful blue sky. I'd been sitting all morning with my desklamp on! Glad I only work three days a week!~

Scarey worked for years in an office with no natural daylight. Fortunately, the IT area in which I worked was such that I was never more than 3 metres from an outside window looking over, at worse, the employee car park.
You have my sympathy. Having said that, the window in my study here in the converted loft is so small that, even on a bright summer day, I need the lights on to see what I am doing. However, we are planning to have a good sized west facing Velux window installed next spring, so we shall not only have much more light, but se able to see the fabulous autumn sunsets, too!
