Ouch, it was cold last night

Had to put the heating on. Checked the max/min thermometer in the garden this morning and it went down to three degrees last night. Don't know about autumn, I think winter is nearly here. Beautiful sunshine this morning, though.

Freezing here last night and the night before. The veg plot looks a bit like a battle ground at the moment. I'll have to tidy it up a bit quick though we're having a very clever gardener come to visit us on Wednesday and we want to look our best

Very clever gardeners (like ALL of us here!) are never critical. With luck they are even helpful!

Iv'e had frost for the last 3 nights now.. and STILL the sweet peas and Dahlia's are plodding on.

It was -3 at the lottie last night according to the max/min thermometer... OH's chilli plants are still plodding on in the unheated greenhouse though!

I think the cucumber plant has now had it But like you say Sarah the chill plants are still ok, I think they can cope with a bit of a chill once they are astablised

oh my poor pumpkin patch, had to laugh a little though as it really did look so bad, amazing what frost can do. Shame though as most of the squashes were just getting going.

Four nights of frost here in Kent (not quite so bad last night). Sat night wiped out the dahlias and cannas which ought to have been fairly sheltered against the west-facing wall. Never mind, they have been wonderful. Courgettes now on the compost, tidying up the rest is a job for this week.

Freezing here as well, but only very light frosts so far so most things are hanging on in there still! I was thinking of clearing at the weekend but courgettes, beans and carrots are still going strong so I left well alone for a while longer.
