its a pretty cool site, you add your friends, talk in real time or on 'their wall' pretty much like on these forums, some fun stuff on there, just type facebook in on search engine etc

you get the free software, add contacts via email, skype name or actual name and you can real time type or chat a la phone but via the computer and as it uses the broadband you (I assume) you already have - it is free......

ahh right, not set that up, will look into it tho, facebook is basically a picture of your life I suppose or as much as you want it to be, you have a page with your profile and lots of other things on it, photos or albums of whatever, your homelife, holidays, work etc and you can view other ppls profile etc, games if you want them, forums, chat rooms, as much as you want or you can keep it as just a way to catch up with friends, depends how you set up your profile really

Don't get it at all, there's some people at work that are really into it and always on about friends they've met on line. Now I know it probably sounds a bit odd (me posting this to people I don't know and that!!) but I'd really rather just talk to my friends and go out and have a life! Not my sort of thing at all, but then again, I don't get involved in the off topic discussions that often as I gossip with OH / my mates and generally have enough gardening related queries / problems to keep me busy here!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Spoken like a true Ludite I'm not on it either but my Daughter is. Iwas asked the same question the other day by someone who wanted to "poke" me I was very flattered as no one has wanted to do that for some time ( especially Mrs G ) but I had to decline

likewise alison, take offence to the "..have a life!" comment actually, yes I talk to my OH thanks very much and my friends, as well as those on facebook which are my work colleagues, yes I have enough gardening/household duties to keep me busy etc etc, plus children to look after as well as working full time etc etc. Just a thought for discussion when I posted this thread! U don't just meet good friends face to face, my opinion seeing as though you have given your own, I was simple asking a question thanks for your input

Sorry, wasn't meant as a dig, just that I already do loads of stuff and don't want to swap any of the things I do. Honest, I wasn't trying to have a dig, one of the things which I find amazing on a daily basis is how different people take pleasure from different things and that's a good thing. So long as nobody is causing anybody harm then fair play. Sorry again if I took offence - must read my posts more carefully in future

ok, no worries, wasn't asking any1 to swap what they already do, we are all busy ppl, just asking a question, as can be seen in my first post, seeing as though it is a gen chat forum thought there maybe others on here who also use the site, simple question that's all I was asking, thanks for replying to my last post, no offence taken
