Those are fabulous, Shortie - you're pretty handy with that camera, aren't you?

Love your little monkies shot too!

Was that at London Zoo, or elsewhere?

I'll check the plant with Mum - she has one in her garden!
The weeks and the years are fine. It's the days I can't cope with!

Plant is Lycesteria formosa (spelling might be iffy!) I've got one too. Are these your holiday pics?

Lovely pics. Shortie. What do you mean 'SueA' style photography? I only get 'up close & personal' with slugs & snails not great big lions, I'd have been too embarrassed to point the camera at them!

Those pics are marvellous! Specially liking the tigers, they're my favourites!

We visited Chester Zoo in the summer hols, but my photos were pants... Animals looked like specks in the distance! We also visited Knowsley Safari Park, where you can drive through the monkey enclosure. That's hilarious, with them climbing all over the car. The kids loved it! Got some pics of them sitting on the bonnet, licking the washer jets! We were lucky to come out with grandad's car intact (big 4x4), some others weren't so lucky with wipers & aerials being pulled off...

I should probably claim the fame on this one but it's OH who took them, he's a natural with the camera... but thanks, I'll pass the compliment on

We were at Paradise Wildlife Park

OH said about going to Whipsnade instead yesterday as it's the same there too. That was until I gently reminded him that they'd probably damage his car and he's pretty precious with it, lol

                            Thanks for the name Flum.

The holiday was a wedding in Southern Ireland and I guess that some of the guest could be described as animals

No, it was our first day back and I forgot I'd promised we'd go there with someone who was down from Wales. You could say we were pretty pooped last night when we finally settled down

Once saw a totally brilliant event at our local zoo. A tourist (grockles, to us Islanders) was trying to get a close up shot of one of the Bengal tigers. So, ignoring all the large and prominent warning notices, he climbed over the safety barrier and approached the cage to take his shot. Very slowly the tiger put his paw through the bars, hooked his expensive camera off him, and proceeeded to chew it to bits. The rather white faced idiot had the gall to complain to a keeper, and asked for his camera back. The keeper said to him, very calmly "Certainly, Sir, I'll just open the gate for you and you can go and ask for it!" Needless to say he didn't take up the offer and the camera stayed there for weeks. As a footnote to this, the Zoo authorities put up another 'safety' notice that said "PLEASE keep on the right side of the barrier, as we weren't able to rescue the owner of the camera!"
