When it was time to leave work I always referred to it as "basket time"
Remember Andy Pandy getting in his basket & saying "time to go home"
"Booooiiinnnnggg, Time for bed!"was what we were told when it was toime to hit the hay as kids. That's what Zebedee from The Magic Roundabout always said.
I remember watching Casey Jones and Champion the Wonder Horse on Saturday mornings
Who remembers The Woodentops? My cousin called them The Toppenwoods. And of course Bill and Ben - and The Man Who Worked in the Garden - mystery figure which is now US of course (or woman).
Aaah, bless the bairn!
It was a raccoon skin hat - with the tail left on for decoration - said to have been worn by American hero Davey Crockett at one of the famous battles (so famous I've forgotten which - was it the Little Bighorn?)
In the 50s there was a film made and the first mass marketing - the Davey Crockett hat. All the kids had them one Christmas. You have to be at least in your mid-late 50s to remember!

My big half-brother used to make me cry by saying I was 'Little Weed' (Bill & Ben) as I was so skinny. Yes I remember Davey Crockett hats & those shoes that used to have animal paw prints on the soles, were they Clarks Trackers or something like that, meant for boys but I always wanted some!
