And Badbury Rings is supposed to be Camelot. Very enduring legends, the Arthurian tales.

Yeah. However King Arthur and his 'mates' come over to Avebury and do a few ceremonies, oddly they all normally happen on a weekend.

        Blessings to all.

Thanks Mrs D for typing all that up. I'm not a follower of any religion but if I were, it's the pagan path that appeals most. Have you read any of Alan Garner's books? They're for children really but he's written some marvellous stuff revolving around Alderly Edge.

ps I reckon you're more likely to have the real King Arthur up there, than the one we get down here at Avebury!

Never Been to Alderley Edge Mrs D but I'v been to Avebury ..... I got there at about 10:00pm on a moonlit night and had to stop and have a walk around it was incredible and as you say there was a feeling about the place that was "odd" (Hounds Tor on dartmoor was another place.) then I carried on with my journey.

I'm spoilt living so near, sometimes I take the place for granted. But it is very special, the whole landscape too.

I went down to Stonehenge the other week (I was in Andover visiting relatives and got bored of the endless cups of tea and aimless conversation! haha) It was a really drizzly grey day and the one thing that struck me (even though I've been there before loads of times) was how many faces I could see in the stones! Really spooky.

If anyone has been to stanton drew the energy there is even greater than stonehenge, although the stones are mush more spread out. Had my reiki one attunements there and it was an amazing experience.
