    Hi Cyanara,

Welcome to the vine, enjoy your time here you will like it ...
As gardening is a live time learning, we are all learning and sharing our experiences, some things work some don't due to complex circumstances ( weather, soil conditions, pest/ disease... ) all of them makes it very interesting, challenging, fun and rewarding.

    Enjoy gardening,
    Momol

His next big project is a greenhouse!!! i gurrently have quite a big growhouse and access to my grandfathers old greenhouse which is a 6x8ft one.

I also have in the jungle.. sorry.. there i go again... garden, a cooking aple tree an eating apple tree and a plum tree (are you getting a feeling of how non-exisitent my gardening knowledge is by my termiology yet??)

You should have exagerated a bit like " I have a small estate on the borders with a substantial natural garden and a small orchard"

              There that sounds better already

DH built my raised beds.. he used treated timber and basically they are boxes that have stakes about a foot deeper than the base of the box dug into the ground.

                6 beds that are 3ft x 2ft x 2ft (lenght x width x height)
                1 bed that is 5ft x 3ft x 2 ft (lenght x width x height)

I've filled the bottom of some of them with homemade compost, and topped them off and filled the rest with a mix of farmyard manure and multi purpose compost.

The long term plan is for him to build me an 8x8ft greenhouse with a raised bed in there so that i can try my hand at some veggies that don't seem to do well in the scottisd weather.
