Does anyone know if there are regulations governing the size of eggs? I find myself having to buy eggs for the first time in years and bought some "large" free-rangers from Tesco. Then I bought some "small" from the Farmer's Market.
Looking at them there didn't seem to be any difference in size so I weighed them.
The large egg weighed exactly 2oz. The small a fraction under, such a fraction that it made no difference. The small eggs were also more than a pound a dozen cheaper!!
