Wrong isn't it, just had a moan on another thread about Christmas etc being longer each year. To me if you start celbrating so early then you can't get the benefit out of the actual day! The only excuse for one at even the start of December would be if the sender has just moved house and wants to get in early with a change of address thing.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I(we)used to send or give out about 40 Christmas cards some to people who I(we) had not seen for 20 years.(one 25 years)
Last year I(we) got it down to about 15 I(we) may send even less this year

Due to my capacity as marketing person unfortunately I am exposed to this kind of thing much earlier in the year than is necessary. I had to order our company Christmas cards a few weeks ago. Prior to that, companies that make the cards send me "mock" cards as far back as September as a mailing "reminder".

I shan't mention that our calendars are ordered in June...

Practise makes us a little better, it doesn't make us perfect.

Yes, unfortunately I did open it, didn't realise what it was. And to make matters worse, it was from a neighbour!!!

I agree that the whole 'C' word thing starts far far far too early. I love christmas, but when it starts in mid Nov its all got so boring by 25th Dec that it isnt really appreciated any more. Plus we seem to have forgotten what it should all be about in the first place.

Personally, I would hand deliver their card on Christmas Eve on the way to the carol service.....

That is the way I have been feeling the past few years. But I think it is worse because everything has to be so "perfect" every year nowadays, and the shops are just so mad.

I was just talking on that other thread about why this year I am trying to get all the "work" done early and then I can actually enjoy the run up to Christmas, doing proper Christmassy things, without the stress and hassle of previous years. And not be totally exhausted by the time the holidays loom.

But although I have been writing cards while watching tv in the evenings, I have NO intention of posting them until mid-December. Prep only at this stage.....

I got really annoyed watching tv last night (I rarely watch as it is, and am just sooo put off bothering!) when there were several adverts pronouncing its feeling like christmas, christmas is here ---- nooooooo !!!!!

Dont mean to be a humbug, I love christmas, I really do, but please can we wait until mid December and then really enjoy it, the way it's meant to be!
