Send your neighbour one: 'happy November' and say you'll send a Christmas card when it actually approaches Christmas ...

When my children were small I never used to decorate the house until Christmas Eve when they were in bed. That way they really used to think it was magic!! Of course they knew Christmas was coming, they used to have Advent Calendars for the countdown, but nothing actually happened until Xmas morning when they woke up to find that Santa had been and the house had been transformed. I think it is so sad that Xmas has been commercialised so much.

OH suggested sending them an easter card!!

I remember the days when christmas started on christmas eve too - I know I was a child then, but it all seemed so much more magical and special. How many children today even know the christmas story?
Life may not be the party we hoped for but since we're here we might as well dance
