Funny thing is, when I was going to clubs (they were discos then - eeww) at age 14, 15, 16 (what can I say, I started young!) I was always taken for old enough to get in - but throughout my adult life thus far I pass for a fair piece for - erm, what was it again - oh yes, 51 and 3/4 - most I meet think me a fair bit younger.

Maybe it's attitude, cos I never did find the growing up manual
Blimey, I'm only 38, and I still think there's nothing wrong with a bit of Sabbath or Purple. (though the Sabbath MUST be Ozzie, and the Purple is usually Coverdale!)

I can honestly say I have never been asked for ID when buying alcohol in the UK, even when I WAS buying it at 16!

Cracking poem that Bubblewrap. I believe it's a villanelle (sp). It's such a good example of the form that it's usually the one quoted when poetic forms are being discussed. I often wonder what they used before DT wrote it.

When I was around 16 - 17 I used to smile sweetly when I got on the bus & get a child's fair & then put some lipstick on & walk into the pub/club & pass for an adult anything up to 21 where necessary!
Nowadays I'm usually taken for younger than I am (it must be the clean living!) & my half-brother accuses me of having a 'portrait in the attic'! I think you're as young as you feel & age is just a number - to be ignored!

I got ID'd in the supermarket last year, I was 31!!! Bless the old duck who was on the counter. But I was ID'd a couple of years before that too. Made my day! Maybe that is a good measure as Flum says - when you stop being annoyed that people take you for younger than your years, and start to be flattered instead. For me, that was about age 28.

I think my equinox 'moment' came in Focus. OH and I having bought some DIY products. On going through the checkout I was asked if I had their over 60's 10% discount card. I didn't, but the realisation that I looked old enough to qualify was a real ego deflater.

BW two other things you will qualify for are the Focus and B&Q over sixties 10% discount cards. Usually you can only use the B&Q cards on a Wednesday, but you can use the Focus card any day of the week. 10% off gardening products can't be bad!!

A friend who is well over 60 recently acquired a B&Q discount card & used it on a Monday.

Farted (loudly) in a pub once & a bloke said "don't fart in front of my wife like that"
I said sorry mate "I didn't know it was her turn!"
