Parking Ticket, at last

Parking is a nightmare, I know and so many people get away with parking in bus stops, bike lanes etc ... we all see police drive past and do nothing.

But...

The nasty kebab man has finally got a parking ticket, hurrah!

He always parks his vehicles on the double-yellows and pavements outside here, semi-blocking the road, a ped.crossing and the view of other drivers coming round the corner.

We can never park outside our house either, but we just go two streets away and that's that.This guy thought he should park where he wanted. Today the police turn up and ticket him; he goes spare, swearing and saying they were picking on him, there was nowhere to park, they were ruining his business.. blah blah.
The officer just phoned for backup and let him rant.

the backup officer knew this nasty kebab man of old and said he'd had plenty of warnings before and no tickets, and was taking the p*ss. He explained the reason that double-yellows were on this narrow road on a corner (!)
He also pointed out a space just down the road and told him, rightly, that he was too lazy to walk a couple of yards. Kebab man then calms down a lot, and accepts his punishment.

At last, a policeman when you need one!! There's a lot of parking on the pavement goes on round here, absolutely infuriating, but I've never seen anyone getting a ticket for it.

We had a similar problem with the pub up from us. Went away for a weekend came back road choked outside coned of with barrels we had to park round the corner. SO I phoned 999 and flipped then straight upstairs swithced on the computer and e-mailed the chief Constable of Warwicks ..... 3 days later I got a call from the new beat officer apologising for the delay in getting back to me but infroming me the pub had received an official bollocking for illegally blocking a road and informed them one more complaint & they would have their license revoked ....apparently I wasn't the first but the others just phone the local nick ( er I meant police station not me ) since then parking hasn't been a problem and the vans don't park here on a friday evening on their way home from work

We live at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, which is only 5-6 houses long, and the guy one door down from us parks his many cars all over the place, and when I say many I mean, his wife's Mini, 2 Astras, 2 Mercedes C class, one Mercedes minibus, 2 Corsa vans and occasionally his daughters Tigra. Plus he has a ruddy huge great camper van on his drive. There are times when you can't walk along the path in front of his house as there are so many cars parked there - sometimes they are driven up onto the drive, but only half fit, so sit accross the path.

We tolerate it because there's usually a space in front of our house so it doesn't block our drive, and he takes parcels etc in for us as they are often in during the day (he runs a taxi/chauffeur business), but the neighbours must get a little cheesed off with it.
