Just out of interest, what car (if any) do you drive?
On our allotment, there's a bit of a mix. Given that we aren't allowed sheds on our plots, most drive to the allotment (including me) with a boot full of tools and various other paraphenalia, and some cars appear to be mobile sheds.
I drive a Seat Leon Cupra (2003 model), and I have one of those boot liner things to keep the inside clean. Being a hatchback means I can fold the back seats down so I can fit my long handled spade, azada, hoe and other large items in, but there are a couple on the allotment who drive a Mercedes A class (the little one), and I often wonder how they fit everything in. Some have the full blown estate thing going on, but they're rare.
I really should have something a little more frugal, but I do love to drive, and the Leon fits me (which can be an issue) nicely. I thought about getting an estate, but to get an estate just to make things easier on the allotment seems a little folly.
