  • Christmas must be getting close

Lady Wayne has just phoned to tell me she's ordered the bird for Christmas dinner. Here's where she got it from: Seldom Seen Farm - Home

    Looks tasty!

Now, it's just down to me to sort the veg....

I ordered mine on the way to work this morning too, from a local farm - Fulmer Fields - whose meat is realllly yummy! Just caught him on his way for a days shooting. figuring out what size we needed in kilos was a bit of a challenge in the local last night ... hmm!

    Happy eating Wayne!

"Brilliant that is HeyWayne" dribbled Wellie. "Makes me want to order one too, but off up to The Piglets for Christmas Dinner again this year. Are you having one of their Three-Birdie-Roasts? A Bronze Turkey or a Yummy Goose?"

"Aye, t'is a tree-bird roast for us" replied HeyWayne, looking forward to it too I am. According to the info, means I won't have to carve my way round the blummin bones too!

It's Lady Wayne and my first Christmas where everyone is coming to us (on seperate days though), so we gotta make it good!

The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

Yes I seem to 'half remember' seeing that programme HeyWayne.... With everyone coming to you and Lady Wayne this year, on separate days, how many Tree-Birdie Roasts is it going to take then? Sounds like a proper Mortgage Job to me!

Ha ha. The outlaws are coming on Christmas day, and my folks are coming Boxing day. Tree-bird will be devoured on Christmas day and we'll do a different (cheaper) roast on Boxing day.

Sent Madmax a link to the three-bird roast thingy - we fancied it but it doesn't say how much it is - however, the 16 quid delivery would prolly make it rather too costly for our crimbo table. Would be a change though wouldn't it?

I used to make (when my Ma and I also ate meat so it was worth doing) a turkey, boned out except for the legs (to keep the shape). Then a ham is placed in the cavity (you bone it by cutting through the centre of the breast so it's opened up). Then I put good sausagemeat on top of the ham and shaped the top to the original shape. You then pull the two flaps of breast meat back over the ham and saus and stitch them together. When it's cooked the people who like a leg can still have one but the whole body can be cut through in slices which have turkey, ham and sausage in each slice. It was so pupular I did it for about 8 years on the trot.
