That sounds nice Flum, did you boil the ham first or just allow extra cooking time?

I did cook and cool the ham first Shirl. But not the sausage meat. Timed it as for a bird full of stuffing but because the ham was cooked beforehand it didn't mean I was cooking it for days!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

I've had three dishwashers (on my fourth) and when they've broken down irrevocably, it's always been at Xmas .
The classic was when I'd cooked Christmas dinner for 15 people and when the guests offered to help clear up my (now ex) husband insisted they sat down as we had a dishwasher. My daughter gave him a right dressing down after for his selfishness. Had I done that I would have been told that guests are not expected to help clear up and I was only being lazy!!!"I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)

£90 ish depending on size.
Top quality shout.
I must admit to having been very tempted by the mixed bird roasts, but don't have a local butcher that provides them. The nearest would be Waitrose at Lichfield.
Last weekend I bought a beautiful joint of standing ribs of beef from Chatsworth Farm Shop, which I'm tempted to have for Christmas for a complete change.
Decisions, decisions, decisions, and only just over three weeks to go, aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrgh

Our Christmas roast arrived tonight. Two Shetland lambs reared on a remote island (Mousa), then slaughtered just this morning and now in our freezer!
Shetland island hill lamb is BEAUTIFUL, so a huge leg of lamb for Christmas and another one for New Year.
(........ and a freezer full of other joints, chops and cheaper meats, including the hearts - now searching for a recipe for stuffed hearts, remember my Mum doing those, hated them at the time, but it was always a lovely gravy.) Apologies to all vegetarians amongst us!~
