  • Weather "sayings"...

Does anyone know the old one "if the oak is out before the ash, then we are in for a splash" and "if the ash is out before the oak, then we are in for a soak"? Meaning that this summer could be pretty wet as all our ash are well out before our oaks...... Praps it will all fall at night......

Ne'er cast a clout 'til may is out!
To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower

March, comes in like a lion, goes out like a lamb.
March the month of many weathers.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

April showers bring forth May flowers.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
